I can buy that car with 13K. :P

But will you Des?

:)

I am sure it is the tyres not the wheels that causes the cabin noise which (imho) is the single biggest problem with the (otherwise very impressive) car. I swapped from (factory fit) Bridgestones which were VERY loud to new set of Toyo Proxes TR-1 following recommendations on this site, and they have definately reduced tyre noise by at least 50% so big success. If you need practicality (as we did after arrival of our baby girl) but still want pace and value, I firmly believe there is no current competition to beat it.

I've got 18"s and can't say I've ever noticed road noise. I have the conti sport 2s but will probably change them soon for some Yokohamas. They're a softer compound so I would expect any road noise that was there to reduce?

Nah, I couldn't handle all that extra power, road holding etc.

Are you thinking of downgrading to the Octavia vRS mkII Des?

I SOLD MY 2004 AUDI A3 2.0 TDI SPORT AFTER OWNING IT 6 MONTHS TO BUY A VRS.

I BASICALLY BOUGHT IT IN A DAY. VIEWED IT, TEST DROVE IT, SIGNED FOR IT.

THE CAR HAS GREAT PERFORMANCE AND SPACE TO GO WITH IT. WAS CONSIDERING BUYING A GOLF GTI. MORE EXPENSIVE, HIGHER INSURANCE GROUP ETC AND THE SIZE.

WOLUD RECOMMEND ONE TO ANY ONE. ONLY THING I WOULD SAY I WOULD OF RATHER BOUGHT A SILVER ONE THAN BLACK.

One day Des, one day :)

You can't educate 'pork' as they say :P ;)

had mine for just over a year now and still love driving it everyday

I have had the same back seat rattles as the majority, and will mention it to my dealer when it goes in for a service..but there may be little they can do about it...some gaffer tape to thicken up the bit it clips onto solved mine anyway

other than that..tyres..I went through the contis in less than 7000 miles and switched to Pilot sport 2's..they seem harder wearing, grip superbly and make less noise

like most people..its blend of pace and boot space make it ideal for me..the boot takes all my fishing gear and that of my friends and the ski hatch is great for my 2 piece fly rods

there cant be a better family car on the market if you want to have fun once the kids are out the back

I personally don't think that would be acceptable  , I've been told Skoda are looking into it. So the more the merrier who make note of it with them. Otherwise they might think it ain't an issue :) .

Take the back seats out :)

I thought mine was quite dull if i'm honest. Quick, handled well, but dull.

I don't ever wish I still had it, although it wasn't quite as dull as this white 25 yr old Jetta

Never mind, Fabia will be back eventually.

Take the back seats out :)

Don't tempt me :)

Do it. Now my vRS is uber practical and even more exciting
