Damn swirls!

Featured Replies

Does anyone else have a problem with paint swirls? When the sun is shining on my red VRS you can see swirls all over the place! I've tried a few products (including Megs ScratchX), but none seem all that good. Any recommendations appreciated!

i use Menzerna Intensive Polish PO91L Thats on my Black VRs. Your ment to use a porta cable. but you can use Ultimate German Applicator

Beware though. Tape off Door handles etc (anything thats not painted) I used this rushed and didnt tape off my rear light lens and now its got a few marks on it. Damm good stuff though. Shame Tims out of stock, his service is **** hot.

You then will need to polish, wax, seal etc. as it strips all polish etc.

For some advice try Clean Your Car - car care products UK. Join the forum and ask questions Tim the owner will normally give you some advice, and so will everyone else.

Hope this all helps.

And That Pad is for people like me who car afford a porta cable. The pad breaks the polish down just as good just takes longer by hand. The thing with a PC is that its random so it wont dig in and make a right mess by buring a hole though your paint work if you hold it in one place too long.

Search for Porter Cable, or PC Buffer on here and you will see some good results. Also check out the guides on www.polishedbliss.com for both hand and machine polishing and some great products.

I personally use Mezerna Intensive polish, finishing touch glaze and FMJ and find I get some fantastic results!

Me too Ive a red one lots swirls.

I am in the middle of polishing the car using Frecla G10 watered down by hand.

to give a very light cut then autoglym super resin polish.

comes up ok, but me polish is running out and just seen the new Autoglym ultra deep shine. supposed to remove swirls etc.

gona give it a whirl and report back.

I want that nice deep red shine!!

If you're anywhere near South Wales then there's a guy on our club forum that will revive and detail your entire car's paintwork for you. He does it as a hobby so prices aren't extortionate, and results are incredible.

Zymol will get rid of the swirls and give a mirror finish when cleansed, clayed and waxed...but its expensive:eek:

meguires three stage thing works for me, and a good wod of elbow grease!

1 paint cleaner ( i think its this stuff thet gets the swirls off)

2 polish

3 wax seal stuff

then i use quick detailer after every wash usually.

there are other polishes, i think ones called swissol or something but you are talking alot of money, there's a link on pistonheads.co.uk that shows lots of car care stuff. one on here to i think.
