fabia vrs keeps stalling

Featured Replies

my fabia vrs keeps stalling at roundabout and junctions and takes a long time to restart after stalling or cutting out it does not do this every time may be 2-3 time a week can any body help. does not stall when moving away when slowing down the car has got no code fault on a code reader. the car has a revo remap done by torquing bhp in camebridge. the car does not smoke and when running runs well.

are you getting any error codes?

does it smoke a lot (compared to 'usual')?

standard or remapped?

It could be the MAF

What kinda mileage have you done, and when was it last serviced?

Some vRSes have had problems with the fuel pump relay, which is located in the dash above the driver's right knee. The relay comes loose in its socket, giving intermittent operation, which is the symptom you describe.

If that's what the cool cats are wearing these days...then there shouldn't be a problem.:D

I misread the initial post. I'm forever stalling the girlfriend's vrs. Problem with having a lot of power and a crap driver behind the wheel I suppose.

Made me smile...Thanks

its very easy to think you've stalled the car , but sometimes you could say its not really your fault , the engine management turns the fuel off and stops the engine when the revs drop below a certain level , it does this to protect the DMF ,

so when you pull away you need to keep the revs up slightly or it will "stall"

It's hard work to stall it, if stuck in traffic jams I tend to just use the clutch and 1st/2nd/3rd to crawl the car - if it's on the flat there is no need to even use the accelerator :)

Saying that when you do stall it, it doesnt have go with a bang. The first time I stalled it I was half expecting the thing not to start again it was so violent. Bloody torque.

Same with all VAG TDIs. It's a hell of a bang the first time you do it.

TBH when it does stall it is mild compared to old Cavalier 1.7 TD - that felt like you'd run into a brick wall, and stopped the car just as quickly :thumbdwn:

Luckily it was virtually impossible to stall whereas I and my wife have inadvertently stalled the vRS several times when getting 1st used to it because it is so much easier to do.
