Remap To 300bhp

Featured Replies

Has anybody had there engine remapped to over that magical 300 bhp yet if so how much and by whom my red octy sII is 56 plate and is all standard ie 200 bhp isnt there a switch you can press if the car goes to the dealer for any work under warrenty to revert back to standard and will they know what i have done

it would take considerably more than a remap to get 300bhp, try remap, turbo, exhaust, intake, intercooler to start with then you might need to look at brakes and suspension too to make everything worth while.

Again a very well discussed subject.

I have already eluded to the 'switch' in one of your other posts where you mention 'upping the boost'.

AFAIK 300hp has been done in Europe but only on pretty special cars that normally belong to the tuning companies.

Realistically expect 245hp max from a remap. Remember that it's not all about HP though, what you will get is a healthy 300lbft of torque which is what will put the smile on your face.

Who are the best at remaps then stu are you sure the old warrenty wont be affected by remapping without the knuckle head mechanics down my dealership knowing!

The warranty will be effected by any remap switchable or not. The 'knucleheads' as you put it can quite easily find out whats going on.

Lol - Now I've never said your warranty wouldn't be affected.

Your warranty will be affected, any parts which may have been caused to fail or be the cause of another part failing due to the new software will not be covered.

In terms of the best, well that's a very subjective issue. Many people like and respect many tuners, it's a personal choice albeit one which can be based on opinion and recomendation.

The search engine may well be your friend for this one. A word of warning though, don't be driven by price and looking for the cheapest. Given the age and complexity of your car you should look for tried and tested.

Oh and they aren't all knuckle heads. ;)

i'm a knuckle head but i don't work on cars for money just for the shear love of it and cos i'm tight :)

Blimey thats one long sentance.

Just caught your sig Ross - knucklehead - PMSL!!!

I thought that too.......................:P

I have been investigating remaps for the TFSI engine recently (just for personal interest of course) and I quite like the idea of Superchips bluefin setup which is switchable and also carries a 12 month warranty for parts affected by the remap.

I had read that Revo couldnt be dectected on these engines because the flash counter wasnt effected?

I have a "friend" who is looking to remap their new car so I am trying to find out as much info as possible.

My Leon and the S3 before it both had/have Revo and they have never been spotted as far as I know. I always switch them off before putting the car in to the dealerships and not one comment has been made.

cos i'm tight :)

No your not.... you ain't got a diesel

Or are you talking about something non money related

The new S3 260bhp and Leon Cupra 240bhp version of the TFSI engine are said to reach very close to the magic 300bhp mark when remapped..

they do have bigger turbos, injectors and other engine differences tho

the same as they always have done :)

wait for a crashed one to come up and simply stick that engine in an octavia :D
