Attention, something wierd.

Featured Replies

Just out of interest.

I was in a car park late one night.

The car was steamed up, so the blowers were on full. I then put it in reverse and it seemed the blowers got more powerfull.

Any one know anything about this? if not try it

hope someone can explain this about the Fabia VRS

This is the fans putting themselves on recirculate to not suck in exhaust fumes when in reverse. :)

Do a search, it's well covered.

Yeh I think it auto puts on the recirculation so as to not allow the diesel fumes into the cabin.

I think as the recirc doesn't have to travel through the pollen filter, it's speed increases as less resistance.

While on about steaming up does anyone else Fabia steam up really easily. The amount of times I have come out of work and my car is steamed up but it's the only one in the car park that is.

The slightest bit of rain and the next thing I know the whole car is steamed up.

That means you've got a leak and the rain is getting into your interior. ;)

Nothing seems damp though I keep checking round the doors anyway whit reading about the problems on here and everything seems fine.

If you've been using the a/c, remember to switch it off a couple of miles from home to allow the condensation inside the system to disperse before the airflow stops.

I haven't switched my AC off in 10 months and mine has never steamed up, except a tiny bit for a couple of minutes when its frosty.....

Tha't the thing....it only steams up once the A/C gets turned off and you run the fans. Leave it on all the time and it'll be fine.

Running the A/C is the best way to get rid of the misting up.

But counterproductive if you're trying to dry the condensation from using the A/C. At some point, you'll turn the A/C off and it'll steam up like mad. Mine does it after A/C usage, more so in the wet.

The A/C automatically switches itself off when the outside temperature is below 5 deg C to prevent damage to the compressor which means that the car can be prone to steaming up (especially if the temperature fluctuates!)....

Chris

I don't have a/c

Better double check all round my doors again for damp before it goes back in on wednesday.

Check the bottom part of the door cards and also look under the mats for condensation. Those are sure signs.

You are not leaving the car unlocked for friends to use for thier secret trysts, and all the body heat left behind is causing the windows to steam up. nudge, nudge, ;) ;)

Recirc does pull air though the pollen filter.

The fan speed doesnt actually increase, its just as it is now drawing air from inside the car rather than outside you can hear it.

Does nobody else want to know what he was doing in the carpark late one night to make the windows steam up.

Haha, no comment

clean the windscreen!!! it is steaming up because the 'water' in the air is 'sticking' to micro-dirt on your windscreen. Use an ammonium based solution. (or stop transporting take-aways, smoking and eating in your car!)

Be sure to wear gloves (can't believe I just said that!! :roll)

Totally agree, keeping the glass clean makes a massive difference to steamy-ness.....
