Stoner has led all three practices session at Laguna Seca....................just qualifying to go now before the race.

Stoner on Pole then, with Rossi 5th................................mind you the top 14 are all covered by less than a second.

The fat lady kicks the chair away and picks up the mic :D:D

Valentinewho?

Yup, I'd say Bridgestone won another race :P

Ducatti came second

Wonder who the top Michelin was, by what margin, by what margin over his Yamaha mates

I think the first Michelin rider was the third loser.:P

Still, at least Rossi has a nice personality.

Stoner fairly blew them all away.

I must say great race by Marco Melandri considering his injuries.

Poor Colin was just going backwards, there's something seriously a miss. I wonder is it partially bike/ partially tyres, Randy Mamola found some strange groves on Colins tyre after the race.

Its looking like the Championship is Stoners to loose now at this stage.

Got to second the Melandri comments..........that was a hell of a crash the day before.

Not a good day for the yanks at all.........................I heard Mamola's comments and he was clearly shocked about the state of the rear tyre.

Agree re the Stoner comment, however like someone said in a previous thread, one DNF and it's all close again.

A three week wait now for the Brno race.

I think Michelin are not going to be getting much sleep these days.

Unless they come up with something then Lance will probably get his wish come true such is Bridgestone's superiority.

:iagree:

It is now blatently obvious that, as long as he is a championship winner, Casey is looking good in a way that Nicky Hayden never did last year. OTOH I still think Casey's being flattered by Michelin if you want to compare him with Vale.

I disagree. I think Stoner is proving to be a class act in his own right, regardless of Rossi's tyre issues.

IMO, some of the Rossi fans will always find an excuse, regardless!!

After the first round/s it was the Ducati being fast, then Rossi with bike problems and now the tyres (agree here though, to some degree).

Rossi domination is well and truly over, not because he's had it, but because equal or better riders are now coming through.

Cracks are appearing in the Rossi world and the pressure is getting to him.

Lance

You want to know what a Michelin-shod works Yam was worth on Sunday, look at where Colin Edwards was!

Oh and try and differentiate between reasons and excuses, huh.

I think all things have come together for Casey this year, he has definitely improved as a rider, the bike is good and also tyres, I suppose at the end of the day if any of these weren't he'd be struggling to be where he is. Also Loris has showed moments of brilliance.

Stoner 0.95 Ducatti 0.95 Bridgestones 0.95 Luck 1.0 = 3.85

Rossi 1.0 Yamaha 0.9 Michelins 0.85 Luck 0.80 = 3.55

is how I see it

I'd say "Vale 0.99..." - IMO he's vulnerable at the start, where he loses places too often.

Probably right - Score amended to 3.54

On tother hand it could be called wisdom / experience.

I meant dropping several places during the straight drag between the grid and the braking point for turn 1; not accepting that you can't win a race at lap 1 turn 1, but you can lose one there.

Accepted - also he may (just possibly) like the gears a touch higher for the odd time they have to drop into 1st during the race.

Alternatively - the Yamaha doesn't grunt so much low down OR

They haven't got the launch as well setup as others OR

As I said, he's cautious - like anyone he's probably scored a few times on bend one in his racing history.

And well, he's not a big fan of traction control, anti-wheelie or whatever it's called in MotoGP.

Launch control.

I was trying to remember (after) if he even has it.

I'm sure Lance (Donkey Whote :D ) will be along shortly to joust with us - erm, jest, I meant - tilt at another windmill or such.

Just be a case of 'Shields Up' on our part

We know we're right :P

He has launch control, but doesn't like it.

He says it takes the rider input away from the bike - which is true.

:iagree: - the competition on-track should be about who rides better, not which team has the better software engineers (and I am a software engineer).
