okies guys i want to get an exhaust system but am faced with budgeting problems want a full system for under

start by getting an old cat from the scrappy and knocking the guts out of it. this coupled with a good air filter to improve breathing will add more bhp than an off the shelf "performance" exhaust

have a look at the laser back box, i'm thinking of taking the center box out, and just running the laser back box

If you have decatted it how does it get through emissions at MOT?

put the original un touched cat back in!

i dont run a cat on moral grounds. it makes the engine work harder and burn more fuel, there for more pollution. the % might be less but the total volume of exhaust is more. i dont know the fine details but me old man does, and he said some thing about a cat takes out one gas, and replaces it with one thats just as harmfully.

cant get an of the shelf de-cat for the felly. and if like me you have a 1.6 the cat is part of the lower manifold.

bit of a pain but now i have one with a cat, and one without.

i just had a new back box fitted , it sounds louder but only slightly may get silencer removed but cant be bothered yet.

i tried looking for ab stylin yesturday ! i couldnt find it in deal :-( only autobase and they couldnt suggest a thing!

you could do like me and get rid of the backbox and replace it with a 3" bore piece of stainless pipe. its not to loud if you keep it bellow 3000rpm

possibly a idea, can that be done with the centre box, just take that away and do the same, whats the centre box for anyway?

what i'm doing is getting used parts from cars dismantled by skospares.com for all your skospares and then chopping them about to make a free flowing exhaust.

i'v allready done the cat. and now i'm working on the center box.

well went there today and have booked myself in to get a scorpian exhaust which they will customise to fit for my car, gonna cost

i may be wrong but i do not think a CAT is actually a requirement for cars of a certain age, reglardless of if they had one from factory or not. I think 1999 is the maximum year of manufacture you can permantly de-cat.

as long at it passes emmisions either way i dont see the problem here?????
