A friend has bought it.

Ahh I see. I hope it's not problems.

Previous owner should be on the V5 when he gets it won't it.

Some minor issues, mostly caused by the VW dealer he's bought it from having what I can only describe as an incompetant service department. Was asking out of curiousity more than anything as I have most of the issues in hand and have also got a case open with VW customer services who've been very helpful.

As you'll probably ask anyway heres some of the problems:

We had to refuse collection when we went to collect on the agreed date. To start with the battery was flat, whilst the bonnet was up to connect the battery pack I took the opportunity to check a few other things. Oil was overfull by around an inch on the dipstick (the supplying dealer had serviced it before collection), they still expected us to drive it away so I explained the damage it would do to the cat and once started also demostrated the black smoke out of the exhaust. Also noticed the coolant was clear.

On the 2nd collection excuse given for overfilled oil was they burn oil so they put extra in and that the other 2 R32's they have are filled the same (said they dropped some oil out anyway though). Excuse for coolant was it's only a 25% mix so you can't see the pink of the G12 (I'm not convinced by that one).

Well lets hope it's resolved in good time then

Excuse for coolant was it's only a 25% mix so you can't see the pink of the G12 (I'm not convinced by that one).

Make up a twenty five percent solution of G12 in a glass then check the colour against a sample of the coolant poured into another glass.

Might be worth it to put your mind at rest/prove your suspicions*

*depending on the result, of course!

25% G14+ : 75% Water would be very obviously pink/red.

Should be pink. Mine didnt look it through the bottle but that was because of the bottle (plastic) being contaminated. When visually checked it was pink for sure.
