WaveyDavey's Fabia vRS

Featured Replies

Ok here's the run down on my little baby..... I've had her from new in 2006 and i'm still loving the experience as much as day one...... if not more with a couple of the more recent alterations / additions to the car.:thumbup::thumbup:

Car

2006 Skoda Fabia vRS in black pearl with ESP, Xenons & Cruise control.

Engine

Dragon Digital PD Tuning Box, Seat Ibiza Cupra PD160 air intake, Green cotton panel filter, Seat PD130 engine soundproofing, SMIC wheel arch venting mod.

Transmission

Standard six speed gearbox, DIY short shifter mod.

Suspension

Seat Sport front upper strut brace (resprayed green and badged as Skoda Motorsport) & Jabba Sport Rear ARB (In green).

Brakes

Standard

Wheels & tyres

Standard 16" alloys & Toyo T1R Proxes all round.

Styling

Colour-coded grille surround, MkII vRS grille badge, Seat Leon Cupra-R front splitter, vRS badging on front doors, Renault/Bosch aero wipers, VW rear aero wiper, Honda S2000/CTR bee-sting aerial, Philips SilverVision indicators front & rear, Headlight protectors, Wind deflectors/baffles fitted on doors, German Skoda dealership numberplate surrounds, LED numberplate lighting and 5..... yes 5 Briskoda stickers of various designs!!!!! Now if that doesn't add another 10HP i don't know what will!!!! :D

Interior

Dash mounted drinks holder, 'Elegance' cubby drawer, LED Interior lighting, Dash mounted vRS badge, Storage pockets either side of centre console.

Ice

Standard 'Symphony' HU with Connects2 unit & 8gb Ipod Nano 3G.

Performance

165BHP & 298ft/lbs Torque...... (Awesome GTI rolling road)

'To do'

I plan to replace the existing brake pads with something that has a little more bite at some point as mine seem very average compared with the mrs' vRS standard brakes which stop on a sixpence!!!

One last cosmetic mod may be to replace the rear FABIA & vRS wording with the new style wording from a new fabia and the vRS badge from an OctyII as they are both approx the same width.

Cheers

Dave.

Cheers for the comments guys.......

Some pics of our other vRS.... "Furby2".... We've only had her a few months and went all the way down to Hitchin for her. Factory options of xenons & cruise control. Pretty much standard apart from PD160 intake & Green cotton filter, Renault/Bosch aero wipers, VW rear aero wiper, Silvervision Indicators & Bluevision interior lights.

And also a couple of pics of my previous pride & joy.... (Albeit big pain in the **** at times!!! what with the

I think the furby's look ace in silver, and that looks a great example

Update..........

Dragon box arrived yesterday while i was at work....... Fitted it yesterday and have taken it out for a few tests so far.

It's currently set to the 'most power' setting but to be honest i think link position 5 worked best on the car. Seemed to have the highest power and was sooooo smooth through the rev range. I'm gonna give it another couple of drives today then settle on which link position to keep it on.

It must make a good difference cos when the mrs had a go behind the wheel last night she immediately authorised getting one for her vRS!!!!!:D

This weeks mod is a sensible one....... :D

Wind deflectors on the windows for when we have the dog in the boot and it's raining / snowing.

I've also added a pic of the SMIC venting.... I opted for the smaller style of vent which has two sets of vents compared to some who go for the larger vent with four vents.... Like two of mine put side-by-side etc...

Also the Dragon box has stayed well & truly on setting 7 of 7 and really makes a differance when compared to 'Furby 2' :D

And i'm toying with replacing the rear FABIA & vRS badges with the FABIA wording from the new mkII car and the rear vRS badge from an OctyII as they are around the same width.

As promised some pics of the latest additions.....

I was gonna take some pics tomorrow when i'm at a uk-polos meet i'm going to but wanted an excuse to have 10-15 minutes away from polishing / waxing the car ready for tomorrow so the pictures are here now. :D:D:D

I've finally got round to fitting my Leon Cupra-R front splitter having bought it in November last year. I managed to fit it on mi todd by screwing one end loosly in position then the other then securing the middle struts in place before then fitting the other screws around the edges.

I also came up with a new home for my old vRS grille badge which i swapped for an Octy II one last year. And the dragon box is visible in it's little perch behind the nearside indicator.

Cheers

Dave.

Lookin' good Dave :thumbup::cool:

Can't decide whether to put the splitter on mine or not... :rubchin:

Cheers Steve....... To be honest it took me about 6 months to decide to buy it...... Then as i say another 3 months to finally decide to go for it and fit it.

I've walked past the car a couple of times today and i think as you see the front of the car out of the corner of your eye it does make the front end look that little bit sportier.... Gives it a slightly lowered look without actually lowering the car.

Well i've just finished on the car for today..... Started at 11:30 and finished at 5:30 with a small break or two in between.... Managed to wash, polish & wax the car.... Just got to tart the wheels up a little, and do the plastic trim and windows before i go to the uk-polos meet tomorrow..... It's only the 2nd polo meet i've been to.... And both times it's been in the vRS!!!! :D

Cheers

Dave.

Good work - I was out there today too, but just for a thorough wash and dry :D

Where's the UK-P meet?

It's at the old post office pub just next to Junction 38 of the M1..... There's a seatcupra.net meet there too. We'll only need an audi and we'll have our own little VW Festival. :D
