Would these wheels fit my Fabia?

I'm after a set of 16" vRS wheels for my 1.4 16V, but if these Seat ones end up going for a cheap price, I might go for them. Question is, would they fit?

I am not sure what size wheels you have on at the moment, but you have to take into account the PCD, and Offset, and if you have 14" wheels on at the moment the size to convert to 16" would be 205/45/16, so the 55's won't do

OK, so basically the wheels would fit, but I'd have to replace the tyres? Probably not the most cost-effective option then.

You dont say what size yours are? also do you know the offset and PCD?

Sorry, mine is currently fitted with 14" Skoda alloys. I am so useless with these things that I don't know what an offset or a PCD are! :)

Hi Again

I know the other guy has put a link on, but this might be of intrest

The Car Maintenance Bibles

And look at the Wheel & Tyre bible

You're running 5x100 and probably an offset (or ET) of 37 - the vRS is 37 anyway.

I'm pretty sure those wheels are from a Mk1 Leon, in which case, they will be compatible, but you'll need to drop to a 45 profile.

So the only 16 straight swaps I can see would be from the vRS, a Polo GT or an Ibiza Sport.

I'll have some vRS ones available shortly, and you look fairly local? Give me a shout if that might work out for you.

Still all double dutch to me I'm afraid.

I can report that the tyres currently on my car say 185/60R 14 82T. Whatever that means.

60 is the aspect ratio of the width

16 yes we know thats in inches

82 is the weight carrying code

T is the speed rating

Ok, also found this page:

Alloy wheel fitments and pcd's.

PCD is 5 x 100 as Wardy said, and the offset is listed as 35-42. I take it this means that anything in this range is ok as long as the PCD is correct and the tyre size is suitable?

The wheels will deffinatly fit ok, the issue is with the tyre size. the profile for the fabia is way to big. If you fit these tyres your speedo will under read by approx 10%, rather than over read as it does now. eg. your speedo will say 70mph, but you will really be travelling at 76mph.

If you join freedom, you get access to a rather natty tyre calculator on this site.

Cheers. Presumably that would also affect the tachometer readings.

Just to clarify, this is the amount of tyre which makes up the sidewall. 60% of 185mm which is 111mm...

Nope wont effect the tacho, thats just engine speed, nothing to do with wheels, tyres etc.
