First Passat mod completed! Pics!!

Featured Replies

Here is the first mod Iv've completed on my VW Passat.

To say I'm pleased is an understatement!

Looks better in the flesh and less like the base model at the front,

Orange indicators replaced with clear ones and all the black bumper trims replaced with body coloured ones, not bad for

It is very subtle, which IMHO makes it better ;) That's a good price as well

nice :D a definite improvement

Hopefully not so subtle that no-one notices but my wife thinks it's a bit of a waste of money but she has so many pairs of shoes.

Tints from the B pillar back next!!

Looks alot better.

Nice. When are the Eibach's and 19's coming?

Looks good.

Cant remember if they are regular blubs in the lights but slier builbs would really make the clear/white lights look ace.

I used the existing bulbs from the orange lenses and just changed them straight over, I think that the internal part of the clear lense is the coloured part so changing the bulb might not make much difference.

Thanks for the comments, all positive so far!

Contemplating trying to get the chrome side bump strips and rear bumper insert as they are black at the moment, thinking trying to make it look more like an SE or similar.

Nice little mod, the orange indicators do scream base model.

Get the side strips changed to chrome and no one will know.

Keep the wheels OEM though eh. A nice set of 17" Sport alloys would do wonders.

I agree completely about the 17" Sport wheels but they seem very rare and the cost involved would be very high and hard to convince SWMBO that the alloys we have need to be changed!

That looks really good, very upmarket,

Thanks for the comments, all positive so far!.

I dont think you'll get any negative comments on that, very Subtle and tasteful mod, well played

Looks good.

You have to wonder why VW bothered with the orange lenses on the 'S'. The 'SE' is the volume sales model and it has clear lenses, as does the SEL and the Sport. So surely it must be costing VW extra to produce/purchase a relatively small amount of orange lenses? Plus it has clear repeaters on the mirror and clear effect LEDs at the rear, so it all seems a bit odd having orange at the front.

Unless the orange ones are in wider use in other countries?

I think they use the same indicators on different models but not sure, things like the Jetta and Touran possibly. I agree as it does seem pointless when they are marketing the New Passat as a premium brand and trying to take sales from Merc and BMW. Not sure if this is happening but it's certainly a step up from previuos Passats.

If the S had more spec it would make the SE pointless so maybe it's a case of making ways of producing more models.
