Red arrows not allowed at olympics

Now, I did read this in the gutter press so it may be sensationalised but apparentely the Red arrows have been told they are not allowed to perform a display at the opening of the Olympics. The reason being given is because they are military after all and it may offend people

But how on earth watching such a bloomin fantastic display like they give can offend anyone is beyond me. We should be proud to show off what they do and celebrate the pleasure so many people get from seeing them.

Where's the petition I say,

The Red arrows are awesome

Hadafknway! This is pants. It said in The Sun today that they were banned for being "Too British" OMFG! I absolutely hate these simpering apologetic militant left wing yoghurt swilling, cardigan wearing, Guardian reading, Tofu eating, criminal petting tuuats!!! The olympics are being held in Britain FFS. The Red Arrows are a rip roaring celebration of Britishness! Christ we're all paying enough fkn taxes to subsidise the White Elephant that is The Olympics so we might as well make it our own.

The aussies had a huge Gay parade in the Style of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert. And they had a brilliant time celebrating Australia in the process. So why can't we celebrate being British? because they're too frightened of offending people. the only people they will offend is the actual British Public. We are all too stupid, offensive and imbecilic to make a contribution. we'd all be better off leaving it to some labour Quango living on Mars.

Typical attitude in this country: "oooooh we can't be seen to offend anyone, ooooooh we have to pussy foot around in case someone complains".

Is this a decision by the same bunch of morons that gave us that monstrosity of an olympic logo??:finger:

The Red Arrows are THE BEST flying display team in the world bar none. They are a national treasure and should be showcased to the entire world at the olympics.

Maybe the Great Britain team should ban the union jack at the games in case that offends someone too. FFS.

What has this country come to? Suppose we will be changing the history books soon so we don't offend.

Last one who leaves the country, turn the light out.

Can us Brits go to another country and now claim asylum due to us being persecuted?

Watch out, British people will be banned next, in favour of 'Europeans'. We won, we choose. Why can't the PC crew keep their noses out of anything? If Paris had won, could we have asked for no (thinking of a stereotype here) berets allowed within 25 miles of an Olympic stadium? Of course not, we'd be laughed at.

Let the RA fly, after all, who have the RAF upset we didn't need to be upset?

  • 2 weeks later...

but think of the carbon footprint they create.

we should have little children dressed as red arrows(costumes made from recycled hemp) running around pretending to be a display team.now that's the new Britain:mad:

The e-petition asking the Prime Minister to "to Allow the Red Arrows to Fly at the 2012 Olympics" is ongoing. This is a response in advance of the closing date from the Government.

It is not true to suggest that the Government has banned the Red Arrows from celebrations to mark the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

The organising committee of London 2012 will decide what to include in the celebrations - but with five years to go, decisions are yet to be made on what the celebrations will look like, although you can be assured that they will be a spectacular showcase of Britain's best.

Don't say that! You'll spoil everyone's uninformed knee-jerk reactionary rantings!

I mean what would Britain be without a populace of credulous morons willing to believe anything the tabloids say and have a go at a non-existent "PC brigade" for something that hasn't actually happened?

I wonder how long it'll be before someone says "Yeah, but it's the sort of thing they would do".
