Nearly new - accident damaged Vrs, anyone?

Featured Replies

It does look like a fairly simple repair.

Looks like it'd need a new shell to do it properly.

I agree with Stu on this one - a new shell required.

Although the mileage is low, the police do have a habit of wearing out the front seats on cars due to the padded clothing, etc. that they wear. I've seen 50K mile Vectra's where the side bolsters have been worn through to the foam.

Also I note that there's no radio fitted and the air vents / storage box is missing, probably due to auxiliary equipment being fitted such as a tablet pc.

Not sure what the two small dark circles are on each side of the front bumper, just below and behind the indicators - any ideas??

Interesting that they have to put a 'diesel' sign on the centre console (below where the radio sits) presumably due to the fact that most 'fast' police vehicles are still petrol.

Still, it'll be interesting to see how much it goes for.

There will have been small blue flashing lights on the sides of the front bumper to assist with alerting other traffic when exiting side roads and they cant see the lights in the grill.

Oh Dear, I'm reading money pit for this one :thumbdwn:

I would say it'd be a spares only job unless you had a shell to put on it.

I removed some parts from a similar one a while ago and it had the same sort of drillings etc. Also it was a base spec car.

From Experience .... the Police tend to get the top spec engines with base spec interiors ............ Unless it is for a squad where the car will look like standard and all auxillary equipment hidden

totally knacked that one, might have done 10K but probably been driven very very hard

That would be an ambitious project!

Wouldn't touch that with a barge pole quite frankly!

where's your sense of adventure lol I know what you mean, shell is mangled

Is it me or has the Passenger seat airbag deployed? Often wondered about those, I take it the chair would be scrap once the airbag goes off, unless you're a dab hand at needlework. Perhaps someone could anwer that for me.

I have popped the seat airbag on my Ibiza Cupra before after hitting a brick on the middle of the A64 ! Needed a new airbag unit and seat covering. Also the airbag ECU needs recoding. Although seat cover was on back order so i was without the car for weeks.

Nasty. Mind you, you if you had the car back minus the seat for a while, you could always scare the pants off peeps by saying that your passenger ejector seat had fired when the occupant had annoyed you. hehe.

Thanks for the answer though, as that was just one of those niggling thoughts.

Someone will buy it cheap and probably repair it cheap

Someone will come along and not do the correct checks and think they have got a bargain when they buy it

From the advertisment "This VRS is direct from the Hampshire Police"

I agree it will be repaired & 99% certain with the existing shell

I think you'll actually find that that's Race Blue followed by Black Magic, according to our VRs owners register.

So far, she's up for £5,500.

Got my bets on it going for no more than £7.5k ??

Are we going to start a 'FREE' Briskoda sticker bet on this one? (yes please!)

To me that's already way over what it's worth.

I agree. No telling what the unseen damage is...
