was it or wasnt it? who supplied it?

Ask Freakcrab, he owns it ;)

But he's too lazy to get it on the rollers...yet :D

Yes it was. The owner of the car is on here somewhere!

Autocar worked out it was 'fettled' as the figures suggested an output of 225bhp based on the figures posted by other VAG group cars.

right,Freakcrab, own up and tell the whole story!! :)

He's put his name down fot the AmD RR day next month, there will be plenty of cars to benchmark compare it with.

I know nothing.

Really, I don't. :)

I didn't know the strange history of the car until after I bought it.

My patience (that's my story and I'm sticking to it) has produced a RR day which, as Manny says, is a perfect comparison for the car. Hopefully there will be some standard and chipped Octy RSs there.

Besides, only if it turns out to be tuned will that tell us anything. If it's standard then the assumption will be that it was returned to standard before I got my mits on it (which involves even more deviousness on the part of Skoda UK).

well,it would be bloody great news if it is indeed standard :)

I just cannot believe that Skoda would risk sending their car to a tuner before a major mag review, they simply wouldnt take the risk

i know other manufacturers have done it but it back fired

er, skoda did that with the Octy RS did they not when reviewed by Autocar

I doubt they'd have risked taking it to a tuners to be prepared. I assume they'd probably carry out a bit of fettling in-house........

Freakcrab,Did evo magazine use your car for their roadtest. Y**RVV.Ragards David

if it was tuned, then skoda uk would have just popped in another ecu, job done.
