how many parts to vrs front bumper?

Featured Replies

Is the front bumper on the fabia vrs made up of two seperate parts just like the rear bumper?

I'm looking at replacing the lower part on my car since I'm not happy with the way a minor paintwork repair has turned out and wondered what parts I'm after.

Also, if i've scratched mine, what are my chances of just being able to have the whole thing resprayed as opposed to buying a new one and having that sprayed and fitted?

cmon guys, i thought this would be a simply question for someone in the know.

Is the vrs front bumper one big part or is made up of two parts like the rear one?

Please?!?!?!?!?

One part, why you asking mate?

EDIT!

Just read why!

Part number is 6Y0807221L £120.08 + VAT

Are you sure it's one part? I suspected it was made up a front bumper and lower stick on spoiler bit etc.

Yes im sure, skoda are showing about 7 in stock too.

A Standard bumper is the same part number but without the L at the end.

BTW, im not saying you cant get hold of a good second hand one and split it apart though, just when you buy a new one its a full lump!

right cheers. And that part number is definitely for the vrs one right?

How on earth are you able to check stock levels!?!?!?!? Are you an employee????

I work for a dealer....!

good, so you're cerain that it's a one part part and that your part number is correct?

Many thanks!

I bashed the bottom of mine but unfortunately it's a one piece part which seems odd, suerly Skoda can make them two part.

Ben

Just had one ordered for my vRS. One piece :)

Right thanks.

Now presumably it comes needing to be sprayed the relevant colour. Does anyone know roughly how much I should be budgeting for when it comes to having it sprayed?

Cheers

Depends where you go, and who too. Impossible question to answer!

Obviously there's some difference, but I would have thought that it would have been easy to predict a ball park figure. It's not as if one person is going to say it takes one hour and another 8 hours is it?

Thanks for your help.

A couple of hundred, i presume, we dont have a bodyshop at work, we sub let to one across the road....

Christ!

Looks like I shall be trying to find an independent looking for a bit of cash in hand work then!

I've no idea when it comes to spraying something but I had the impression that it would re a relatively simple / quick job. Saying that I guess it must take a couple of hours or so, and therefore perhaps I've been a little naive when estimating the cost in my mind!

Hehe, well they have to prep it, then spray it, so it is fairly time consuming, but dont let my price dishearten you, im just a parts advisor, not a bodyshop estimator!

lol

Silversausage recently had his sprayed, brand new so not a huge amount of prep/rectification and iirc it was about £200 maybe just under.

Remember alot of the time with spray jobs you get what you pay for, dont be tempted to go to somebodys cousins mates aunties son because he has a compressor and will do it for £50, go for somebody with a good reputation.

Well put Bigw2069....

cheers for that.

Out of interest ... is it relatively easy to swap the bumper over yourself? If I could do that, I'd probably save a fair wedge and could afford to get a decent paint job.

I guess the overall plan would be to source the parts myself through one like JHM Butt, get them sprayed at somewhere fairly decent and then do the fitting myself.

Christ i wouldnt use them!

Id do a bit of discount if you came in for one...

What's wrong with them then?

Erm, they charge a bit too much for a crappy service, you ask a few people about there "Customer Service"....

The bumper is quite easy to swap.
