Skoda MFD3 Trinax - My thoughts **Warning Lots of Pictures**

Featured Replies

Forgive me if this has already been mentioned but I tried the xCarLink iPod adaptor and it does not work on the MFD3 sadly but if there is a good alternative to try let me know..:)

I had similar experience with MFD2. Kufatec's Digital music interface seems to work nicely though. Have been using that for the past 4 months now, and not a single problem.

Finally got my V3 Sat Nav DVD from the dealer as a warranty item.

As the Columbus was a factory fit, they took a copy of the invoice for the car as proof of purchase, I also returned the V2 DVD.

It took them 10 weeks to sort this out !!

It is still a shame that it still cannot do a full postcode search.

Great to hear that you have got your v3 disk. Im still wating!!!!! Grrrr.

Sorry if this has been asked before - I have a 2005 Occy II and had enourmous probs. getting this to work with my premium 12 speaker sound system. Did anyone ver crack it? Was it coding. My dealer (Parkside) had the car for 2 weeks, charged me £350 and told me it was incompatible. Hmmmmmm...

They're lying. Columbus is fully compatible with the 12 speaker sound system. They're selling Columbus + soundsystem as an option here in Finland. Why would they sell it if it wouldn't work??

I think the problem lies with the radio soft coding. You need to code the radio for Sound system.

In Vag-Com, select radio and coding. From there click on long coding helper and tick Byte 01 bit 02. That tells the radio that Skoda sound system is installed. By default it probably has bit 00 enabled which is "sound system not installed"

You can find the byte and bit explanations here :

VW Radio Navigation System (RNS510) - Ross-Tech Wiki

Take your car back to the dealer and tell them to fix it for free, or find a friend with Vag-Com and demand that you get your money back from the dealer. £350 for nothing seems too much....

If I remember correctly yours is an MFD2 isn't it. A different unit to this.

As above, the Columbus is fully compatible with the Skoda Soundsystem.

You weren't to know, I remembered it from a while ago.

Great to hear that you have got your v3 disk. Im still wating!!!!! Grrrr.

Ish!!! How come you;re still waiting?!?!

I have not had the greatest success talking to my dealer (they are t'other end of the country becasue car ordered via leasing company) but they finally came back to me and said it woudl be easier if I were to deal directly with my local dealer

So I called Farmers' Nottingham on Monday - they said OK, but without proof of purcahse they coudn't sort it. Rang back original pain in the a***e dealer, who agreed to provide necesary details to Farmers' by fax. Spoke with Farmer's this morning and its all sorted, they are expecting a new v3 DVD for me to arrive tomorrow so I just have to drop by with the v2 one....that's 4 days!!!

Seriously, give Farmers a call and ask to speak to Steve in the service department......he's "the man", sure he will be able to sort it for you.

good luck

mf

as of yesterday I am now a happy v3 DVD owner :D

Big thumbs-up to farmers again :thumbup::thumbup:

Thanks Madfiddler, i will give them a poke with a big stick again, my problem is that every time I remember about it is when i get in the car which is when they are closed, so cant ring them on the way home. TBH Im runnign v3 so not such a big deal, but it would be nice to get the disc.
