was thinking of getting a vrs having doubts now if a chaved up ford can **** all over them.

At 1** and something miles an hour, id guess you ran out of 4th gear and changed into 5th, at which point he pulled ahead of you?

Something along those lines maybe? Been there, done that...

The ST is a good car.

Badge snobbery - gotta laugh at it :D

If a Ford is faster than normal, it's "ch@vved up". If a Fabia is, it's "modded"

must been a hair dressers car running on some tined chemicals

What's a Fiesta ST?

Is it a new model?

I can't remember ever seeing one.

Is it as quick as an XR2?

A mapped ST (2.0 Duratec) will only be about 155bhp.

No, they go to about 165/151 with a Bluefin or a Dreamscience. Did you check before you said that?

i was doing 250mph the other day on my pushbike!!!! prosecute that :P

That was a useful comment. Did you spend a while thinking that up or are you normally this witty off the cuff?

The ones I always see around Notts have go faster stripes on them

I had a look at one before I bought the vRS, they may be decent cars to drive but after sitting in the car I didn't want to take it for a test drive, the interior is horrible.

I dont see why people are dissing the Fiesta ST.

Its a well specced car, and tis a great shame they didnt strap a turbo to it and it would be a real pocket rocket then.

i know, he's nearly as good as you mate

I've seen somewhere a fiesta ST but with a Focus RS lump and running gear but i bet thats slow as well? :P

this + stripped out is easily 200bhp per tonne. with a fabia weighing in at over 1300Kg your gonna need a lot of power to match one i'd say, probably about 250+

It's a Skoda forum, it's bound to happen, and ncarring gave a perfect comment earlier. The only people who hate it, are the people who don't have it.

This type of behaviour isn't unusual on here. And I've met alot of people from this forum who say they've driven every car and feel that reading something from a magazine is a suitable back-up soloution.

IF at 18 when I bought my Fabia new, I could have afforded the Fiesta ST, and the insurance, I would of had it any day over the Fabia. (Better looking, better specced, better residuals... and more of a decent hot hatch overall i.e. better handling, faster.) All IMVHO.

your right though james, i only bought my skoda because i couldn't afford the S4 i wanted :D

not knocking skoda's but anyone here who had the choice of any car on teh road and bought a skoda is simply mad i'd say as money no option there are many many faster/more comfortable/more competant cars out tehre.

I would of had a Fiesta ST over a VRS.

But my Dad encouraged me to get the VRS as it has 5 doors and is a diesel.

Also, the ST cost too much to insure.

And if you knew anything about Pumaspeeds quality of work or even Pumabuild for that matter of fact, you wouldn't touch Tony and his workmen. I can't count on one hand how many times that Fiesta has had problems after they built it. Infact, I remember the first thread when they bought it.... ;)

Also, 1320kg, would need 260 hp to be near 200bhp per tonne. :P

nobody wants a ford or a vauxhall do they ??

Badge snobbery from a Skoda owner?

That's a new one.

And to think, the people who have an S4, Really wanted an RS4. And the people who wanted an RS4 really want an R8, And the people who have an R8 really want......a Bugatti Veyron, AND the people who have a veyron .... can't really have anything else. :o

An F1 fighter?

yes but i work for nissan there **** too

He will never be as good as me ;)

I have no idea about the Fiesta ST or any spawn that may have been created. I don't believe I actually berated or got behind either car. I just pointed out where people got their facts wrong.

Still don't understand why people post hearsay/speculation and sometimes obvious BS and try to pass it off as if they know what they are talking about and they are obviously so right thats the end of the discussion.

If they can't spend 30 seconds verifying the information then they shouldn't post it.
