After all this, I still don't know whether the car was already mapped or not? It didn't show any benefit to the other vRS he was driving with (was that mapped too, oh now I'm just confused).

hi mate i have called jbs (mike) and i am going in today to see what they say and hopefully will find that it has not been done...if of course it has been done maybe the car was remapped before hand but it did not seem in the first place to be pushing out around 170bhp... anyway fingers crossed i will be posting some good news later..thank you for everyones comment so farewith possible suggestions it is appreciated...ps can i ask jbs to proove that is has been done i.e on the rollers or can i just ask for my money back?

I'm pretty sure that they can tell if it's been done by just driving the car...... can't see any reason why they'd try and deceive you

That's not in dispute, but you have managed to insult another member (who also happens to be a member of the moderation team) which is in contravention of the rules on here - whether you expect insults to be censored or not.

Was he? As far as I can see, he was just commenting on the similarity of the join date and the 2-for-1 offer...hardly the sort of comment to provoke abusive language.

Besides which commenting on the similarity of join dates/company promotions isn't forbidden by the rules. Calling people offensive names is. Hence the latter behaviour will receive a warning. As such there is nothing further to discuss with regards to this.

It's not about closing rank. It's about enforcing rules about abusive language...if it had been the other way round and Des was using abusive language, he would've received a warning also (if not more) - there is no favouritism.

As it is, the OP has said he's had his car two weeks, so it's just coincidence that he joined at the same time as the 2-for-1 promotion started. Fairly simple explanation that could've been given without resorting to abusive language, no?

I agree, and I've never said that he shouldn't have been given the (lenient) telling off for the abusive posts he made.

I'm sure Des' comments were nothing more than a bit of banter/ribbing, but the guy's only been around for a matter of weeks and could only take his comments at face value, other people joining in wouldn't have helped matters either but what can you do?

If it meant saving £200 then I would definitely join the forum to save money and I am sure everyone else would too
