Big Disapointment Jbs Custom Code!!!

Featured Replies

Giving the guy the benefit of the doubt, I reckon the easiest way to tell in an objective manner whether the remap has worked is to see if it will pull past 3750rpm. With tuning of any sort, it ought to keep going until the revs approach 4500, whereas the standard engine will just run out of puff above 3750. There's no need to ask yourself if it 'feels' faster or pulls 'harder'; just see how far the revs will go before it runs out of puff...

There was a thread on here recently regarding getting a refund from a supplier who was being considerably less helpful than JBS seem to be, so if you need any more info in that direction, have a bit of a search...

Hope This Helps.

When he thought that it was not pulling as he thought it would, and knowing that JBS have a rolling road set up. Would it not have been easier to drive straight back and ask for it to be put on the rollers, or is that too simple a solution ???????

Especially considering it was a rolling road day!

It won't last, it never does................LOL

sweet mother of god what the hell is wrong with some of you i was just asking opinions and explaining my expereince on saturday? why is that wrong? i am not whining just wanting to know some facts because i have only owned the car two weeks and thought i would ask you guys seeing as you are the experts? or is that wrong??? i have found out some very good info i.e it really should not have lasted 20 mins for a good map see my other posts on here i asked everyones opinion on jbs and angel tuning before i went and most of you said they were both as good as each other !!!

Hi

If you can feel NO difference to the car compared with before you took it in, then there are two likely scenarios:

1. They forgot to do a remap - which would explain why the car feels the same

2. They DID do a remap, but it ALREADY had a remap of approx the same power/torque on it before you went in - which would explain why the car feels the same

You could take you car on a rolling road to get a dyno printout of bhp and torque. If the figures match* the standard 130bhp and 310NM then that shows that (1) is the likely option. They forgot to do it.

If the dyno shows something you'd expect from a std remap, eg 165-175 bhp, then that would indicate (2).

* = of course it will never EXACTLY match, but it should be approximately matching other stock VRS cars - you would have to assume transmission losses etc

Hi mate,

Were you the guy I met there? I had it done and noticed a big difference. The remap is generic, that is why it only took 10 mins to install on the car. My only annoyance was the fact I was told it was switchable, only to then be told it's not once it was installed.

look everyone the reason i am diffensive is if you look at the remark made to me that I only joined in october so i am trying to do something a bit dodgy is a little bit hurtful and in all respects has nothing to do with my post made before...and also about the swearing i am sorry because on other forums i have been on the systems automatically blanks out the word with something like this f**k so i did not know this would happen so i am sorry if i affended anyone...if you look back at my posts i have not slagged of jbs in anyway and in my first post i stated how happy i was with the people and the overall experience so i am not trying to cause any trouble for them i just simply wanted peoples comments...now if the car was remapped before the garage never told me where i got it from if they even knew i dont know but the rolling road day was already booked and paid for by the people who went and when i asked what the crack was i could not have gone on anyway also i did call jbs asap and i was told that for the first 3 ignition turns the car would adjust to your driving style AND i had to be back for the rugby i am calling jbs today to what to do and I HAVE EVERY FAITH IN THEM SORTING IT OUT!!

hey up mate JMC yeah mate that was me glad you liked it mate i am starting to think now my car was remapped before but i am going to get jbs to have a look at you

Be sure to let us know how you get on. :)

if you look back at my posts i have not slagged of jbs in anyway

That's not in dispute, but you have managed to insult another member (who also happens to be a member of the moderation team) which is in contravention of the rules on here - whether you expect insults to be censored or not.

Consider this a warning about making personal insults, next time it'll be a ban. :)

Thanks,

Rob.

I have the Moon on a stick if you want it. Ill let you have it for nothing, you will just need to come and pick it up...

If this is still available, I'll take it off your hands. I do a nice line of snake oils if you're interested ;)

please could someone please show me where i ahve insulted anyone on this forum BEFORE it was insinuated that i was doing something dodgy? if this guy is a moderator then surely he should have known better instead on posting a comment that had nothing to do with the post? surely that is against the rules also??

surely that is against the rules also??

No. The rules are against abusive personal insults - no exceptions are granted to this, and it's not up for discussion.

I think people are being a bit hard on clidgevrs. All he did was ask for advice. This isn't what Briskoda is about.

That's where you went wrong, you need to use at least 4 or 5 times before you don't notice any perceviable change, otherwise how are you maximising revenue for snake oil vendors, eh? :)

Rob.

It has been asked already and seemingly ignored so, I'll ask again.

Are you sure the car wasnt already re-mapped?

Yeah, and he was given it, except i don't think he liked what he heard given his responses have been very abrupt, defensive and downright rude in some cases with no real provocation.

cheers **** all the best :finger:

I am sorry, but there is no need of the attitude.

Here you go:

...now if the car was remapped before the garage never told me where i got it from if they even knew i dont know...

Doh!

See, I had a similar experiance with Crocodile juice so I figured once was enough ;)

You guys are priceless.

As always - 'old hands' (started post 25) insinuated something against the poor old newbie - who ask what was meant by it, quite reasonably - to be told he was over-reacting! Then others pile on and start with sarcastic digs and suggest his colloquial and non-offensive use of an expletive is unacceptable and that he is being generally offensive - utter rubbish - he remained proportionate in the face of provocation.

What is even worse is that it has been in this case, and my own experience, that it is members of the moderation team that are at the heart of, or defend, this 'needless aggressive attitude' as noted and raised by other forum members but denied by the 'clique'.

At least some people can read this thread in an impartial manner and have the guts to stand up for the poor OP.

Come on, open your eyes and sort yourselves out!

You have read well too much into it. He posted like a 12 year old on a gaming forum and got a bit flamed.

Des pointed out he joined around the time the deal started and he went all homeland security on us say "What does that mean??" and it went down hill from there. He reacted really badly to a bit of forum banter. I seem to be proceeded by the reputation of a slighlty agressive point of view on these forums and I know that coming out with half the stuff he has is just going to wind anyone up and get roasted.

It's quite simple, if people are going to react like that about a bit of banter then there is only one answer;

Go home son, your Mum's got cake for you...

Hey, thats a first too. Does this make me part of a "Clique"??? I don't think I have ever been in one of those :D

Calling someone a "****" is both unacceptable and offensive - and, most importantly it breaches the rules which are there to keep this place civilised.
