Brembo brake kits??

Featured Replies

just as a matter of interest, what do the brembo brake kits cost to buy??

was thinking about maybe looking into the idea of manufacturing a small quantity of special brakes kits using alternative calipers, i reckon it can be done for around £500 ish...

any interest??:o

Most Fabia guys tend to go for the 312mm disk with TT/Octy vRS etc calipers.

TBH its a great set up, and at £250 ish is going to be difficult to beat.

The full Leon Cupra R kit can be bought new on cupranet. No idea the exact price, but the official stuff? - Looking at around £800 for calipers, carriers, hoses, discs and pads. I got mine second hand from EddyH, but still paid £500. Good brakes though.

do you know what size discs the leon uses?? 330mm isn't it??

323mm. And 4 pot calipers.

i want even bigger brakes,500 quid ish for a set of 6 potters would be nice!and bigger disks,312's are sooo last year:D

Genuine set of R32 brakes on sale on ED38 and they are blue.

I've just fitted my Cupra R Brembos today. :D

If you want new stuff then the cheapest is the Neuspeed GT kit (rebranded Brembo GT) which can be bought from the states for £700 delivered, almost half the UK price.

how big and how much?

Is there any spacing required, and how big would my new wheels need to be?

345mm, £450 for the whole kit brand new.

I would think you would need some spacing, maybe 18's R32 alloys would look awesome :)

I am trying to build the ultimate trackday fabia,so am trying to keep the wheels as close to standard as poss,i think it would look great, but have a negative effect on handling, damm good price tho:D

You wont get Brembos under the standard Fabia wheels, nor anything over 312mm.

when i offered the 312's up before i fit them i must admit i was worried, even tho i knew they would fit under the standard wheels!I am just being vain i think, some nice 6 potters with a brand name on would do,but they want so much for them.

I was shocked I needed spacers with my Compo MOs as the back of the wheel just touched the caliper, 1mm would have done it if they existed lol.

I'll have to try a Futura on for size, but I've got a feeling I'm going to have two sets for sale soon if the MOs are anything to go by.

IMHO 6 pots would be too much for the master cylinder.

Deffo for 6 pots your looking at 17" wheels upwards with a good clearance behind them.

Depends on the size of the pots, if six pots gave the same pressure and piston surface area as a four pot for the fluid to work on there wouldnt be any difference. Benifits would be a better pressure distribution.

how detrimental to the track handling would an inch be? I may just have to stick with the trusty 312's,imho they are well on top of the job.

Try some Tarox G88's (312mm) and some Tarox Rallye + pads, then see if you still need Brembo's.

i know deep down i don't need them,i just like the way they look, and i have to find some cash for the kw cup kit plus top adjustable castor/camber mounts, cos god they are expensive, but i think they will ultimatly be worth it:D:D

BTW if anyone wants the Cupra R setup Sandburns (breakers) have the calipers and carriers for sale for £250, add some EBC rotors and pads of choice, job done.

You'll also need the fluid lines ;)

They are included actually, and probably pads as well but they can't officially/legally sell used pads.

323mm. And 4 pot calipers.

same as the R32 golf isnt that set up

Would that be using new calipers or used? Seems very cheap for new 4 pots.

I assume you managed to avoid import duty and vat then. :)

No. R32 uses 2 pot calipers and 334mm discs.
