hey erick a got a good deal, i have the oportinity to change mi engine for the 16v 100hp for no aditional cost just a trade betwen the two, engines. now can you tell me all the details of what i can do here to this engine, like what cams or head can i use (the change that i can do here) and what parts "trick" ones do i have to buy it from you.

Trick bits are cams, verniers, inlet manifold then for even more power pistons, con rods, valves and valve springs.

hey, erik i was searching in the web and i found some price of the trick parts cams= $300 USD, verniers= $250 and Manifold= $240 total= $790 USD but for that price you can get here the 2002 1.8T 180hp engine, i'm ocnfuse i dont know what to get because if there are the same pirces of AAT, plus shiping and have all fit all it wil be more expensive than get the 1.8t and tranny, ecu and wiring loom all fit in the car for $2500 USD and i will have 180hp. I want to know what option is better for me. please helpme on that.

Someone mentioned that the 1.4 8valve can be 'sorted' too, is this the case, and if it is, what gains can be expected out the old lump if it pushes 100bhp?

At the moment my car is all skirt and no knickers, and the engine doesnt do the bodywork any justice at all.

Erik

Will you be having a stand at GTi Inters as I would love to have a chat about some of these engine mods? If not, I will have to come up and see you and your Polo once it's up and running properly. :)

Fab, thanks for seeing us at GTI ~ not sure if you got the info as we haven't heard. Only just back on this forum so if you haven't had the info or want some more let me know.

Erik - if possible could you let me know what the various options & approximate cost would be on engine mods to get my wife's 1.4 Ibiza Sport (100bhp) upgraded to approx 140/150bhp. Would like whatever the option is to be everyday driveable / reliable - ie not too mad :airjock:

8 or 16V and what's the engine number?

Don't know engine number but it is the 2003 model 1.4 Sport - technical spec per the Seat website is here:

http://213.52.138.186/seat/models/ibiza/technical/top.html

- sorry direct link didn't work - is at seat.co.uk

Do you need to know anything more? Will get the engine number tonight.

Erik - I haven't recieved any info on the conversions. I guessed you must have been quite busy, plus my slight lack of funds at the moment. Hopefully that will all change soon, so I may be heading your way for some odds and ends! Hope to hear from you soon.

The polo might even be able to do more than 50yds demo by the too :D

Still having problems then? :D Would be good to see it perform!

Driver related problems, something to do with a complete lack of talent.....

150 bhp ~ cams, verniers, head work, throttle bodies, manifold etc =

mmmmmm. Throttle bodies! :p A mate has a set of Weber Alpha bodies on his 2.0 Zetec engined tiger kit car. That thing is rapid! The Weber kit does look good when the bonnet is off though. :D That and possibly aturbo kit too. One seriously quick little Fabia. (vRS killer possibly) ;)

Yes they certainly look good, although Jenvey/DTA are as good and far easier to work with..... Put a lovely carbon airbox in and it looks all ETCC ;)
