Oh Dear Corsa Boys Do It Again

That's soooo stupid I almost admire it. Aren't those Civic type-R headlights? For what this cost he probably could have bought one!

Nothing wrong with modded cars though - there used to be a chap in Nottingham years ago with a Skoda Estelle in primer with a Rover V8 in the back :-)

Pass me a gun.

Andy you've summed it up in 4 words. For the car only though. One on a chieftan tank wouldn't go amiss!!!!!!! Seen a couple of mobile fossils knocking around the wirral like this.Got to :D though havn't you! C.J.

Fronts are Honda Civic, rears are Lexus lights for the Honda Accord Coupe.

I have mate who is in his mid thirties and is involved with one of the Nova clubs.

He had a Nova GTE with an 2.0 Astra engine in it and nos but it looked bog standard - the complete opposite to these toss pots with all the looks (if you can call them looks) but an elastic band for an engine.

Yes, but when you're 17 you won't be able to get insured on anything with much more for an engine. I guess it's a while since you were that age, but being a young male is horrific for insurance - heck, Direct Line wanted

I'd say it's sadder to be on an internet forum condemning someone for doing this than it is to actually do it... Rob.

Hmmnn controversial Rob ... but im sorry, the car is crap and you can have a nice car, with low insurance and get noticed without resorting to tacky sh*te like that - plenty of good classic cars around that can do the job and even some modern cars can be done up with a bit of taste. Also I could sort of accepted the car if it hadn't gone for the rocket launcher effect as exhausts - that just screams prat :thumbdwn:

a bit of taste.

Which is extremely subjective. I know I wouldn't be buying a yellow Octy vRS even if I could get reasonable insurance on one... :P

:nono: Are you trying to start WWIII, Rob?

oooooh saucer of milk :P Guess im more into what a car does rather than straight appearance value. Love my moggy as its bulletproof, is a great cheap motor, easy to fix if anything did ever go wrong and it also had the lucky effect that women loved it! The Octy IMHO is never going to be a great looking car but it goes very well and is cheap for what it does. I wouldn't have chosen yellow myself at the time but it was very cheap (probably cos of the colour) ... I now like it and would even consider getting another one of the same colour

... and I still claim that that exhaust system defies anyones definition of taste

Are you trying to start WWIII, Rob?

Nooo, if I was trying to that I would've just said something about taxis and shopping cars... ;)

Only point I was trying to get across is that someone has spent a lot of time and money doing something they want, so who is anyone else to criticise just because it's not a plain car with a big engine? :D

Rob.

would have thought fab vrs owners would appreciate it... small car loaded down with heavy kit which makes it not very fast at all... right up there street:rofl:

bit like a 1.6 ambiente really.... but with bigger wheels....;)

would be like an ambiente with RS bits really.

;)

But then not everyone wants to drive around in the hollow shell of a minicab... :P

Laden or unladen...? :rubchin:

Rob.

That Nova is living proof that "less is more"!

By the way I can't remember where it originated because it was so long ago but in this instance it would go:

"What do you call a Nova with a sunroof?"

:peepwall:

Just this afternoon I saw a Smart scalp a Panda 1000Fire with rust is this a first?

  • 2 weeks later...

If you mean a Smart outdragged a Panda 1000Fire then this is perfectly possible! We have some Smarts in thesmartclub which are capable of 120mph+. Obviously a few mods have been done to enable this - bigger turbos, for example.

Our one has a simple 30bhp remap and stainless steel TIK but I have no intention of slowing it down with ridiculous spoilers . It runs out of steam at 100mph on the GPS! :D

Kent, totally agree, old sprity type thing went through villiage today, turned more heads than barrys on corsa, mind thats becasue we were all laughing at his appauling clutch control...anybody for a round of kanagroo songs...

...individual, you need an lt28 van after you pass your test. Great light RWD in winter and uber kit mover for partys or bricks (thanks dad).

Rleated? Maybe not but that does not stop me.

If I had my time over again; I reckon I'd get a classic, very cheap insurance, maybe an inflated purchase price...but you are going to understand the roads and braking distances FAR better...then again I don't wear a cap or tuck my pants into my socks.
