Aero Wipers Rubber only - Here's part N

Featured Replies

Skoda dealer that does Seat servicing myself.

Wonder if normal refils would work as they look the same.

Nope the dealer looked at this page and tried all combos and some just don't exist on the skoda/seat database they said.

Sorry, all this time I've forgotten to say that my dealer is VW/Audi/Skoda. Those part numbers are VW, that's why I didn't have any problem. I mean when somebody go to my dealer and gives the part number, for them it's the same if it was VW or Skoda. So, go to VW dealer or Audi. By the way, when I got them (2 days after order) they had a sticker with part number and logos for all VAG brands (VW, Audi, Skoda, Seat).

My dealer can see all the VAG stuff but they couldn't actually find the parts rather than coming up parts restricted. I did get some as one of the numbers was valid, IIRC the longer RHD one.

OK, in one of your previous posts you said your dealer could see "A" and "C", so that solves the mistery, as one is for RHD and the other LHD. They are longer, so no problem. We can just cut them to desired size. When I ordered mine I didn't have LHD number. I only knew about RHD part number. After they arrived, I asked the dealer and he explained me about LHD and RHD difference. I've installed RHD on my LHD car, as the only difference is new cap that comes with rubber. I've put them with old cap and all works fine. Next one will be LHD as now I know the right part numbers.

Hi, BOSNJO

I'm from Portugal as you and have a Octy II, can you tell me if these part numbers are the correct ones

- 1K0 955 429 B - LHD 650mm

- 1K0 955 429 C - LHD 700mm

- 7E0 955 425 - back wiper

Thanks

Yes, that's correct. I've just got the pair of "1K0 955 429 B" from the dealer Lacocar in Faro.

For those who don't believe that getting them is possible, here is the picture of mine:

I believe you, but I'm just saying that it appears hard to get anything except the long item in the UK.

Longer or shorter, there is no difference as both need to be cut. Price is so small that shouldn't make much difference between longer and shorter. I believe that VAG has dacided to go on only with longer ones for cheaper production/packing (having only one product) and then we cut them the way we want, for any VAG vehicle with aero wipers. Friend of mine got them at my dealer for his Ford Focus and he's very pleased. So, they fit Ford as well and God knows how many other models / brands.

I think standard wiper rubbers will fit so might buy a £1.99 pack to try next time.

I bought my wiper refills at the VW dealer...as well as my oil filters, air filters

any idea what part numbers you used? I have a VW dealer just across the road at work.

Had one hell of a struggle to get rubbers out of my dealers. Total refusal to believe that such things existed. Gave them part number and they did everything thet could to tell me that they will not fit the blades on an Octavia.

Eventually with bad grace ordered them. 11.70 euros instead of 44 Euros plus vat. Whats the matter with these people?

By the way how do you get the ends off the blades to slide the rubber out ?

In the post Nº10 on this thread, there is link to one spanish pdf document that has photos of "how to...". Go see it, it's easy. You just need to remove top cap (not the bottom one) by pulling it out. If you have new cap than don't worry if old one breaks. Lift the pin up, take the rubber out, put the new one in, cut it the right size, stuck the pin in, put the new cap on or if you don't have it put the old one. I´ve done my pair in 5 minutes.

Are these replacement wipers the exact same as OE? The descriptions says so, they're cheap enough - SKODA OCTAVIA AEROFLEX FLAT WIPER BLADES 11/2004-> on eBay, also, Skoda, Car Parts, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 30-Oct-08 08:03:59 GMT)

I haven't tried using this part number 'trick' at my dealer yet, it looks a lot less hassle to simply buy this from ebay!

Dave.

NO; these are NOT OE fitment, which are Bosch Aerotwin IIRC; they are a 'pattern' copy.

Try these guys, not sure how they compare to a Dealer's price, but I buy all my wipers from here;- WIPERBLADES.CO.UK

Thanks, thought it was probably too good to be true. Not keen on replacing perfectly servicable wiper when all I need is new blades. I guess I'll have to call my local VW dealer if Skoda still aren't selling these part numbers.

Dave.

I got a set of these today, all 3 for 24 Euro. I am unable to check them on the car as its in the garage getting work done. The guy only said the 1K0 955 429 was available and would work on both sides. Is this the case?

The refill one is only 650mm long. Mcgyver measured his and they are Drivers 605mm Passangers 480mm and Rear 410mm.

I also got the rear aswell 7E0 955 425, its 410mm.

The guy queried where I heard about it, saying that they don't broadcast about them being available....I wonder why !!!!! He complimented me on doing my homework regarding part numbers, so well done to those who done their homework.

I put a picture below of the clips in the pack, I see a tab which might be good to know about in-order to release the old ones without breaking. Its amusing to see the Skoda badge on the pack even though they won't stock them.

I fitted my second set of replacement blades on Saturday to the original 2 year old wipers. 13 euro for the fronts. Back was fine.

Nice saving over a full set of wipers.

And yes I had to go to my VW dealer for them!

The refills can't last too long seeing as you've replaced them twice. Mine are still originals after 2.5 years and only got bad lately....well until tomorrow when I get the car back.

Might see about refills for the Fabia aeros then :)

Cheers for the info

Steve

I like to change my wiper blades every year, to keep them fresh. Now that the winter weather is nearly upon us, must go and get a set of blades for mine.

Should be the same part, jus maybe lenght is different but, as you see in this thread, new rubbers have to be cut to a desired lenght.

Yes I replace them once a year. Helps keep the windscreen scratch free. The first refills were fine actually but the difference between them and the new ones is worth changing them.

Yes, thanks - I see that and I think that's what I'll end up doing

Steve

Guys for anyone doing this, there's 2 endcaps with each refills, I was initially thinking one for each side BUT thank god I then realised that both are for the same side of the blade (so if you take off the incorrect one your snookered). The reason there is 2 is that theres one for the Drivers arm and one for the Passangers arm. Btw they are DIFFERENT sizes.

I done a little how to, I asked Stu to put it on his site, so whenever he gets a chance it might all make more sense.

Also for those that have already done it, did you just pull back the Tab that prevents the rubber from moving (see attachment)?

Also check about those end caps, there a pain to get off.
