Aero Wipers Rubber only - Here's part N

One point I noticed is that the profile of the refill is slightly different to the one I have removed; looks as if it will be OK though and doing a couple of test wipes the new blades show up how worn my existing ones were.

That's what I said earlier in the thread. Mine didn't have the "vertical" rubber extension all along the blade, that makes them an aero wiper! So the black metal clip some way along the arm doesn't get any rubber in its upper part.

However I found they still worked fine, but looked not so good.

When you buy refills, keep an eye on the cross-section profile of what they are handing you. The cross-section should look sort of like an extended cross, not like a "T".

1 per pack in mine, but they came with the plastic piece for either a Drivers or Passangers wiper arm, is this the same for you Dodgy?

Sure is

Just put the driver's side on on my car, very easy. Quick tip, grasp the end cap whilst wearing a pair of marigolds (in a manly way), the extra grip brings the cap straight off. No tools or screwdrivers needed and virtually no risk of damaging the end cap (if you're worried about that).

Good tip, I got sick of pulling at them so just ripped them to shreds to see what they looked like :D. Although I still think I'd put the new ones on, maybe keep the old ones if your stuck sometime ;)

If you buy spares for both arms you have a spare of each kind anyway.

Just bought two more refills from my local (to work) VW dealer.

I asked for two x 1K0 955 429 - each pack contained one refill plus two end clips (handed so that you can renew at each end) and cost was £10.88 inc VAT for the two refills.

For the technically minded; these are 650mm/25.5" long - driver's side on the Octy is 24" and passenger side 19". These will also be fitable into Fabia/Roomster wipers as well (I think).

Is this the definitive answer?

No, the caps are both from the same end. One fits the driver's side arm, one fits the passenger side arm. Look at the inner part, one has 1 channel, one has a raised edge inside.

I agree with this. @ bahnstormer vrs put the two caps beside each other, they are the same side but different sizes ;)

I just ordered part no's:

- 1K0 955 429 A (2 of)

- 7E0 955 425 (1 of)

Total £17.57 from Hawco Peterhead. Am i right in saying these are the wipers i need for the Octy mk2?

I just read through the 4 pages of this thread taking notes as I go..... Just to confirm I'm looking for refills for my 2006 Octavia Vrs,

So I go to my VW parts dept and ask for 2x 1KO955429A This will get me 2 rubbers and clips for both the drivers and pass side?

You will be OK with this, but you do not need the 'A' suffix - Part no; 1K0 955 429 will do (get two).

Thanks mate

Hi, I'm new to the forum but learning new things all the time. This Aero wiper re-fill tip was useful as mine need replacing and Audi wanted £28 for a new pair. I tried removing the rubber today and it wouldn't slide out, even after bending back the metal clip as shown in the spanish guide. One additional thing I found is that the plastic cover on the middle section comes off and the aero plastic runner slide outwards an inch or so.

Anyway, in order to remove the blade I had to pull it from the crevice. But on re-fitting it would only slide less than half way up the wiper before getting stuck. :(

Is there a knack to getting the new blade back into the wiper?

Is there a knack to getting the new blade back into the wiper?

Try to put liquid soap on new rubbers. It will act as lubricant to get them in and will be washed away with first rain.

Thanks will give that a try. Does anyone know the part number for the TT Aero wiper blades? They are 21" long.

Does anyone know or has anyone tried fitting these aero wiper refills to Mk4 aero wipers? It seems most of you guys are buying these for the Mk5/Octy II wipers. I did phone a VW parts place and he couldn't tell me whether they would be fine for Mk4 aero wipers.

Cheers.

The part number listed above is not available to UK Skoda dealers as I am one I attempted to order and it is classed as a brand inhabit

Meaning Skoda dealers can't get them

I attempted to explain the above this morning to a customer but the customer claimed they knew better than the dealer who has the ordering systems

I’m not saying you cannot get them at all but VAG will not supply the above part number to Skoda dealers

Thanks for reading

You have to get them at VW dealer

You have to get them at VW dealer

Quite right; only available at VW dealers.

Rang the dealer I usually use for something else but made inquiries about these, had the the "they only do whole units" conversation... Sigh.

Got them on order from the local VW place, should be in today.

VW dealer in my closest town said they did not recognise the part number and when I replied to the question what car he was unhelpful:thumbdwn:. Went to Barnards in Stowmarket, the man recognised the part number as a refill without using the computer. Said he didn't understand why they didn't sell more of them. He also offered advice on how to fit them:thumbup: He got £16s worth of business including the rear.

when was getting the wires for doing the mp3 kit a while back i explained the colour of the wires, where they come from and what they do and was told straight away that they couldnt help no such part and the wires could only be done in the factory, a quick text to stu got me the part numbers, the guy ordered them and when they arrived and all paid for i told the guy that the wires in hand were the ones he said he couldnt get... he then asked if they were for a mk4 golf so i said yes and once outside pointed at my skoda and thumb up to him  thing is i now get discount when im in there as i save him a job by giving him part numbers and he also thinks im getting them for the workshop at work as i usually go in with works jacket on (our company runs the vag warehouse up north) so my parts usually come with a 10-20% discount

You have to get them at VW dealer

seat dealers sell one of the part numbers for the alhambra and altea IIRC

Well i fitted the new blades, pulled the wrong end off the first one and couldnt find the clip as i thought the 2 clips were for each end but never needed the new clips (four spare here).

Cut the wipers to slightly bigger to what you need and one in the wiper arm trim down, the clip on the end of the arm can be moved out and back in with a small screw driver (and probably easier than pliers), the best advice i can give is match the end cap in the packet with the one on the wiper arm before you attempt to dismantle it as this is where i went wrong (and wished i did) apart form that i guess it took no more than 15 minutes for a first time and all secure and working well now (5 minutes next time now i know what to do)!!

Many thanks to Bosnjo OP for sharing this one and saving many briskodians a few tenners!!!

Found these on ebay, seller claims they are OE replacement, so bargain.......!
