Featured Replies

finally got mine: 2 front and 1 rear. £16.58 in total.

the local vw dealers were hopeless. kept wanting a vehicle registration number. instead i went to a local vag specialist garage. very helpful. they just ordered the parts.

thanks to those above for the part numbers

I stil havent got a chance to pull the caps off the rear one. I suspect it's just a regular blade stuck between 2 metal rails.

I changed it so I have an old one to play with.

the complete rear one was only £4.16+VAT. very easy to change. well once i had figured out how the slidey catch thing worked:rolleyes:

The rear is different to the front, its a whole unit....just needs to be removed from the wiper arm.

I know that, as my dealer finally managed to bring some of those in. I'll soon take pics with it undone.

Thanks very much for this thread. Just ordered the blade refils, or a 'Repair Kit' as my local VW dealer called it.

As of Feb 09 they were £4.76 each.

Asked whether I'd fitted them before etc.

Had 5 in stock too! I purchased a couple just in case!! :D

I ordered 2 of the 1K0 955 429 A from Specialist Cars in Aberdeen on Wednesday - not in stock but will be availalble to pick up on Friday.

£4.92 each (im assuming ex VAT).

Finally got round to fitting these.

The 1K0 955 429 A packs each came with ONE endcap not two. The packs were sealed with the end cap in a self contained bit at the end on the package. No way was the other endcap were lost or "borrowed" by the garage. It was manufactured and packaged with just one endcap.

The single endcap is for a right hand drive drivers side end cap. The passenger side endcap is smaller. Thank god I manged to get it off undamaged as I didnt realise the problem until I went to refit a new end cap.

Anyone know if you now need a different part number for a RHD passenger replacement blade in case I break the endcap next time its due for replacement ?
