Your VIN code might tell you, I think there may be an options decoder floating around somewhere.

In the front of your handbook, or on a sticker in the boot, you should find a list of option code.

Put them into this website - VW Group Option Codes Decoder

A couple of websites also used to do it from your VIN (chassis) number. They are down at the moment (not sure if this is a permanent thing) but for the record they were....

Magic.ro - Auto Resources and Information.

The problem is that there is nothing in handbook or in the boot of the car (any place spacific in the boot?).

Should be a stickly label in the service schedule (inside of front cover) and one in the boot - on my estate is under the carpet on the left hand side. That should list the options, but won't give the date of manufacture.

You can usually pretty much tell what model it is by the equiptment.

Classic = No electric windows or air con.

Ambiente = Electric windows and manual air con.

Elegance = As ambiente with climate control etc. (though never heard of a 1.6 in elegance trim!)

There are other models but unlikely to be them being a 1.6!

Yes there is by using ETKA

Mines 2003 reg plate but was built in Vrchlabi between 31-8-2002 and 30-9-2002. Judging by the difference in the cahassis numbers which left the factory between thoughs dates i can say it would be closer to the latter end of sept 2002.

Chassis number is required for this.

Pm me it if you are desperate.

There should be a large sticky label under the boot carpet, beside the spare wheel well, covered in 4 character codes. Of course, you'll then need to be able to translate said codes.
