Tom Tom 3 Release date ?

Featured Replies

Anyone have the golden email for their upgrade option from Tom Tom 2 yet ? I got one ages ago about the fact it will be upgraded and understand it was going to be this month but I have heard nothing as of yet ?

I was going to ask you the same question tonight, so my answer is no.

I thinks it's out - been for little while now. Not ordered it myself yet as i haven't seen the SDK.

Have a look at expansys.co.uk

Dave, we get a free upgrade to the next version cause when we bought it the new version was announced a month later. The upgrade for this which is the same as the full version should of been available this month. We are supposed to get a mail with a link to click on to get the new version but neither of us have heard anything yet !

Filled that link in about 1 month ago when I found out about the upgrade. We should all recieve an individual email with an upgrade link which is relative to ourselves only.

Yes but we have to go via the upgrade as we get it for free.

Got my upgrade delivered on Tuesday, it's not a lot different to the previous version really. The itinerary planner will come in useful to some.

Dave.

Got my copy, it really isnt worth getting too worried about, besides the updated (slightly) maps, and the new icons, and a slight performance increase and better postcode lookup there's nothing really new in it...... Hmmmm might be worth the upgrade then......

Can anyone who's installed this already tell me if it has Grays (Essex), Rawlyn Close (RM16) in it?

As a postscript, I got the email yesterday, but won't be upgrading (it will cost me) unless it has fixed some of the map issues.

The link works, why they never sent the e-mail out I do not know. All you have to do is fill out the form with your activation codes and the website does the rest. All you have to pay is

Tom tom 2 has Grays (Thurrock)

What issues? and the digitools postcode search covers the postcode part.

Faye,

Doesn't seem to have Rawlyn. PM me full postcode and I'll see what it comes up with.

Cheers

It doesn't have the road I live on when it was named nearly 3 years ago. Doesn't really bode well that the latest tomtom *still* doesn't have it.

It may not sound important, but it won't plan until it gets to a road on the map.

Wonder if it still has the Phantom roundabout on the A1 near Wetherby

As Tomtom get their UK map data from Ordinance Survey, you can blame them

I don't think the Ordnance Survey will have called Mayflower Road "Lower Road" or put it in RM20 when it should be RM16.

I put EX39 in it and it didn't bring up the postcodes list...

I think I'll wait for the proof-read version.

OK if you're getting it for free, but not worth ?50. :thumbdwn:

I though it would either be NavTec or TeleAtlas data.

Fair enough, but the site of Adrians Basingstoke meets (some back road between reading and basingstoke) is apparently in hearts, but

Tomtom still takes you to the right place, so the wording may be wrong but I have found it still takes me to the right place.

The

TT3 is getting a right slagging on the pocketgpsworld forums! I've just 'upgraded' to version 2, TT3 is very dissapointing :(

Dave.

Not great news as I'm thinking of purchasing the Palm Tunsten T3 with TT3! :(
