Top "no-prize" for spotting what I've done to my car.

:D

Finally the days of shame are over.

why is my car parked at your gaff?

steve

Got a funky number plate that can't be read by Gatsos? ;)

:D

Nice wheels by the way :D

Let the tail pipe get dirty?

Swapped it for a Mitsubishi?

Hit a Mitsubishi?

Run into the garage door?

Realised the car won't actually fit in the garage?

Washed it?

I give in.

Wheels look nice though.:D Are they 16"?

Freakcrab

Where did you find the wheels? And that looks suspiciously like a 4 door Carisma , judging by the tail light shape...(god im sad lol!)

Got it - gone up to 17's

Cheers all.

Just sharing my joy at no longer being slightly ashamed of my RS. Got the 17s off of Tobmob (who seems to be missing since the forum changeover) on tuesday. Fitted them wednesday and am very pleased with the result for the cash.

Taking it out for a thrash today I've noticed the 17s do seem to corner better than the 16s although there is far more crashing on some of Edinburgh's poorer roads (Queen street).

Yes, car number two (although by far the oldest resident) in the household is a 1997 Mitsubishi Carisma 1.6 GL 4-door.

Freakcrab - Obviously you are back from the US now - how was the first blast in the RS when you got back? I find I get used to it and then I go and drive our Rover 220D - when I get back in the RS its - :D :D :D :D :D

Just a thought - do you have any pics of the RS with 16" wheels - it would be interesting to compare how it looks

My RS on 16s

Slightly different angle from the other one, but you get the idea.

If anyone get's bored of their RS I recommend being forced to drive something rubbish for 3 months. And you don't get much more rubbish that a Saturn L200.

Getting back to the RS has been a revelation. It's great!:D Sunday evening, despite jet-lag, I took the RS round the Edinburgh bypass to Fort Kinnaird. It felt just like it did a year ago when I first got the car

You've polished it! Time to send the dog round to have a look. :D

And the address is.........dog.gif

PS Shouldn't this thread be in my Performance?

No

:p

My Maintenance, then? It is about polishing, isn't it?

Time to wake the dog........dog.gif

Past experience with the Carisma's now pink paintwork has made me paranoid about fading on red cars.

I clean the car every week and wax it every 2-3 weeks.

I used to be able to put the car in the garage but now, with all the layers of wax on it, it won't fit! :rainbow:

My son's red Cavalier was fading badly after 10 years. I don't whether other colours fade as much with age, but I was warned off buying red for that reason when I lived in Malta. (Plus it made sense to buy a light colour to help keep the car cooler in summer).

Time to respray the dog........dog.gif

Freakcrab,

Mail the wax wizzard, Pink providing its not too bad can be brought back to red & not by mechanical means but by feeding the paint. YES I know you must think I'm mad but its true, the "pinking" effect is caused by the sun drawing the oils out of the very top layer of paint & this can be remedied
