1.8t standard fit tubular manifold

Featured Replies

anyone know of decent ones available anywhere?

i did send a message to the derv doctor with no response(admitidly haven't actually called yet) and only found this one on ebay but think there is a better one about. i would prefer one with a proper equal length design that swirls around and directs the exhaust gases into the turbo nicely :)

at what point does the manifold become restrictive?

Badger bill did an equal length manifold for his 1.8t and was going to sell them but not sure if he actually got round to it, Impressive bit of kit but I Imagine its pricetag will be equally impressive.

a better flowing manifold will benefit any application but obviously the bigger the turbo the greater the benefit :)

What about the ABD ones?

they aren't tubular manifolds, they are no better than the ATP one i have right now :)

thats not for a standard turbo by the looks of it.

Worth pinging him an email anyway if you really cant find one and it may only need a different flange and a custom downpipe.

Just trying to help :o

As none (apart from Bills) of the Manifolds post here are equall lenth I will give you a heads up. I can get one for you if you tell me what turbo you want to run, I wll get a price.

If I can find a pic of my one I'll post it.

Ben, if it helps the one Badger Bill had made was from my mates down the road from me (Primary Designs) I know Pat well as he made my 100cel downpipe and cat, i also know that the equal length one he made bill was B****y dear:(

i can't be buying a super dooper turbo just yet Des so looking at a standard fit tubular manifold for now if anyone does them so i still use my ATP turbo.

si thats not the thing i am after thats one of the ebay items i linked to at the start :)

i'd love a PD manifold Phil but already well aware of their prices!!

currently got the Derv doctors getting back to me as i will only have an equal length manifold or nothing and stick to my current manifold.

Thats an XS Power manifold that you linked to Bengie, btw.

there is an equal length one on ebay in sure for about 225

unless you're aiming high powerwise, I dont see the necessity for a manifold like that you seek, unless you've seen high EGT's that relate to he manifold.

And i'd get a manifold that can take a T / GT series turbo myself!

yeh tahts the one although no one ever buys em so ul probs win at the 225 asking price.

i was lucky and got mine for 141

bargain!

I'd still prefer a manifold with a T3 flange.

as i said earlier i don't have the money to be fitting a different turbo before actually getting to drive with this one for a while.

manifold £225

GT series :-

turbo/manifold £1,000+

+downpipe

+mapping

+oil lines and water lines

+internals and rebuild as would be well over the top of the standard engine

i can see where your coming from witht eh money as its either £225 or 2k.

exactly.mines getting fitted tomorrow wooooooo will take pics

thats a completely different manifold to the one you have bought, yours is just a tubular manifold thats the same sort of design as the standard item but the later one is an equal length manifold.

ok

depends what your aims are Bengie, and what turbo you're putting on your car.

However, from a money POV, i totally see your point :)

the turbo thats going on is the one thats currently on, a ATP GT2x.

well after 6 hours in the garage we gave up

took all the hard pipes out and everything to find out that not all the bolts would fit on the manifiold properly and it was badly made. the oil and water lines would not pass underneath the unit without touching which ****ed me off even more. so its on its way back to bolton. maybe it fits the golf or the leon fine but the way the octy engine is mounted the one on ebay wont fit. word of warning to anyone who is thiniking of buying one from 2fast 2cool.
