How easy or difficult was it tot do the front lights ??

It wasnt too bad actually.

Just removed the lights and got a hairdryer to them and took the front plastic bit off.

Then sand down and spray the inserts.

Took me about 3 hours, its a bit of a rough job though.

Might do it again some time and put more effort into it.

How did you manage to take the front badge off when you sprayed the grill ,did you have to get a new one onse sprayed? thanks

I damaged my badge a bit when i took it off.

Dont know what the correct way to do it is.

But there are 2 plasticbits at the back of the badge holding it in, i drilled them off and prised the badge off.

Took a wee dent out of it though.

But got it mostly back into shape.

Saw it in the flesh Sunday, front looks great, but the back lights weren't to my taste, a medium smoke tint may have looked better.

Cheers, yeah i'm going to agree with the lights.

They look a bit dodgy, going to try with tint spray stuff next.

Paint on the lights looks crap!

Try and use a blueish tint?

How about smoothing off the roof next? I think I'm one of the few fabias, if not the only one, with a smoothed off roof. :D My rear wiper is staying though - I use that too much to remove it, but I have the polo aero wiper fitted which looks much better than stock.

Love what you did to the rear 100% - thinking of removing my rear wiper now - did it leave anything sticking out that you need to cover/fill??

As a plus you could re-direct/connect the rear wiper spray line to the intercooler for an on-demand IC spray - all it needs is some hose and a brass cheapo sprayer nozzle adjusted for the finest mist possible....

Cheers

Cheers mate, just have to take the wiper out and wiper motor.

Thats all you need to take out.

I'll leave the grommet for the window, which i turned the other way and put another grommet inside that one.

Gives it a smooth look.

After it gets lowered i might think about loosing the VRS rear bumper and get a hidden exhaust. Smoothing a 1.4 bumper or somthing.

Then get a small plate recess.

I could keep my list going...

Wound all the way down at the rear, so the adjusters will be coming out at some point.

Washed her yesterday, honest, roads are just so gritty and white up here just now! :thumbdwn:

Next stop, red calipers!

I like black wheels with silver or diamond-cut rims - the ones on your car look the mutts....

Just a small critisism - paint the key-hole black to finish off. Just me being pickie. ;)

Rears out first, still a good bit of threads left at the front!

We'll see how it goes this week, i have a show on Sunday so might get it lower by then.

Easy to take the foglight out, i had my front bumper off at the time and the bracket was broken but it isnt that hard to get out anyway.

Cheers for the comments guys.

Yeah I recon the front down a just a few more mm should look the dogs. How much more will the back drop with no seats, 20mm?

  • Author

Possibly a bit more, the seats and adjuster at the rear is pretty chunky!

So whip them out and should look good! Thank it thats your motor in your sig?

If so fancy PMing me some pics.

Luving the black on black. I'm thinking of getting a Cupra Splitter at sumpoint...
