did the mis-quote engine just miss a gear

apply the no tax/discounts etc to the ST and you've something like 6-8 grand of your 18 grand budget left to spend on making it go faster...:P besides, the "Stage 2" kit £1838 + fitting and gives the car 182bhp so it's not really an £18,000 Fiesta

:D

but if anybody is feeling both flush and generous, I wouldn't mind a £200,000 Focus

Actually your wrong. Again:rofl:

Because they are upgrade kits they do not come under the Tax free allowance for new cars (i know cos i looked into the 260bhp Focus out of curiosity) so you will only save around £2.5 - £3K Ford Military discount on the ST Variants is only 5%

A £200k Focus  Now we are just getting daft

If you had that money you would just buy a Lambourghini Murcielago and have done with it. We are now just detracting from the original argument.

Read my last post and the offer still stands

Either that or we can wait till one of the lads in my Place buys the 185bhp ST and i'll talk him into going to the "ring" so we can see who's car is quicker:rolleyes:. I'll even organise it as a Briskoda trip so their are witnesses

Or if we want to be Stupid we can wait till i get back to the UK this week and i'll go on National TV and Publicly Challenge a Fiesta ST to a Duel.

Or if we want to go really really Stupid and up amongst the clouds i'll write to Clarkson and ask him to do a feature length episode on the 2 Cars culminating in the Stig taking the Fiesta ST followed by My Car around the Top Gear Track:rolleyes::P:finger::D

Carl:thumbup:

according to the ford webites car configuator the ST with no options costs £13,795.00 and the stage 2 power pack is £1,838 so thats only £15,633

this £18,000 business by adding some KW coilovers, full leather seats and every other option available i think.

a quick google shows that you can get a brand new one for £11,295 easily so your only looking at £13,133 for a 185bhp brand new fiesta ST with ford warranty. bargain.

But why would you spend £13k on the fiesta when you could have a Fabia mk2 Sport 1.9TDi...:rofl::D

Fiesta ST costs £13,795 (list) so how much does it cost minus tax and with your forces discount? how much of your £18K is left for upgrades? the upgrade packs don't have be bought at the same time as a new car, they don't even have to be bought for a new car :P

and yes, I reckon a WRC Focus would be more of a giggle than a Lambo :D

The 18K is because the Kit is £1838 plus fitting

The fiesta ST is £11,380.87 Tax free (not including any optional extras the price goes up with any optional extras)

So your prolly around the £15k mark if you pay for the 185bhp upgrade (thats to include VAT & Fitting etc).

In which case ill be able to achieve around 260bhp and around 310lb/ft so still no contest:D

To get that power im looking at

Revo stage 1 £600 approx

Milltek Cat Back £600 approx

Evoms £ 350 approx

Revo Stage 2 £60 approx (requires miltek and evoms to be done)

All that is including VAT and fitting so for around £1600 which still leaves a fair chunk i can throw at the car to equal £15k:D

And yeah ill give a you a WRC Focus is more fun than a Lambo but its £250k for a WRC engine alone so your £200k Budget is a bit short:rofl: (unless your buying a write off:rofl:)

Rather have the fiesta.

Don't forget to add recaro seats etc to the Octy.

who's vRS

You rang?

Anyway, 18 k is alot of ££ for a Fiesta. My mate who has an ST is shocked at the money they want for upgrades, so he is doing it bit by bit himself for much less. Ok, he doesnt keep his warranty.

1850 for a pair of front seats? I mean - wtf?

My car - if you exclude repairs to blown engines, cost alot less than 18k to get where it is now. And it has similar handling, much more poke.

:finger: just because i proved you wrong doesnt mean you have to resort to insults does it. If it does trust me i can go worse:finger::P:rofl:

1850 for a pair of front seats? I mean - wtf?

these are the same seats that are standard in the Corsa VXR and Audi RS4. they go for something like £800 each from recaro (no leather) plus the subframes. so £1,950.69 (plus fitting) doesn't seem that bad of a deal.

on the face of it, £1838 for an intake, tubular manifold, hi-flow cat, exhaust, cams, valvesprings and remap doesn't seem all that bad compared to the likes of pumaspeed where a complete milltek exhuast system is £1044, add in their £489 for dreamscience and £435 for a cam and you're already there, minus the valve springs and intake. can these parts be sourced for less? certainly, but there's something to said for getting everything done by/from one company :)

and a warranty is worth more to some than it is to others

a: you didnt prove me wrong. :)

b: if you cant stand the heat....

c: you need to evaulate your tuning. power is nothing without control. so how come you dont worry about susp/ tyres / weight etc? :D

Ok

1 . I did prove you wrong as my argument all along was it depended who's vRS it was:D

2. Im a soldier trust me i can stand the heat military banter is far worse than anything on here.:P:D

3. True power is nothing without control and i was going to use that myself if this carried on. So if we want to talk suspension then its £2.2k as the suspension upgrade is £600 approx for my car. Tyres are already good enough and weight well i'll go on a diet and turn up with only half a tank of fuel:P. Also driver skill comes into the equation and im not going to divulge too much info but i spent 10 weeks learning to drive in a "specialist manner" so i know my skill level is good enough:D:D

4. I never take life to seriously. It's hard to convey sarcasm on here all the time as vocal and facial expression cant be shown (apart from smileys:thumbup::D)

5. :finger::finger::finger::finger::finger: you cant even afford a briskoda membership so im not gonna waste my time arguing with a peasant:P

Carl:thumbup:

Oh goodness. All hail the skoda as the best car in the world.

Carl:thumbup:

Why are we comparing a Fiesta to an Octavia?? Thats like comparing an Octavia RS to an RS6

And now to your points...

1. I'd call it a draw, no-one won that one

2. Could be that pongos are just dense

3. I think my money would be on the baron for the driving skill - he's almost as good as me

4. Indeed

5. Not poor, just prudent. What benefit would he actually get from paying the money?

Very nice.

What age group is the £18k Fiesta aimed at?

Ok to your Points.

Firstly i never made the Comparison it was your beloved Redbaron who made the comparison. And to compare an Octavia to an RS6 is Just ludicrous.

Everyone Knows the Octy is Better:rofl:

1. I did win as the Argument was in my favour so that means i win :P

2. Pongos might be dense but its us dense pongos that provide everyone with a blankett of security. Also how does Military banter being worse than anything on here mean Pongo's are dense. It means we actually have a sense of humour and like Banter. (something that is obviously lost with some folk on here) :P

3. I wasnt comparing my driving skill to Redbaron's. I was comparing driving skill of some 18yr old Twonk in his All show and no Go ST Fiesta. But if we do want to compare then you can place your money on the Baron. I will only set one test and that is he has to Conduct a SMEE. ;)

4. Glad we agree on something;)

5. If you peasants forked out for Freedom memebership you would get the Following

a. Your Name would go green (now thats cool for a start and shows everyone your not a peasant)

b. You would get access to the threads that are Locked to freedom Members

c. You get a Free Briskoda Sticker

d. I'll consider your opinion.

Otherwise until you do get Freedom Membership when i want your opinion ill give it to you:finger::P:rofl:

Now for something that has just occured to me. Why are you Defending the Redbaron?? Does he need defending or have you got a secret longing for him that you fear to tell.

Just remember being :gay: is allowed but its not condoned:P:rofl:

Carl:thumbup:

d. You also get an opinion.

No - Briskoda has never operated on the principle that you may only hold and/or express an opinion unless you've joined Freedom. Please do not tell other members that this is the case.

Thanks,

sorry post will be edited to rephrase

Much obliged. :)
