no thanks

:orb_no:I wouldnt pay £18k for a fiesta no matter how good it was :orb_no:

I would buy a second hand fiesta then do my own stuff to it to make it special.

Would a hell of alot cheaper than 18k and id have fun modding it at the same time

maybe if it was a JWRC Fiesta :D

We've discussed this before...

I think it's worth it for the warranty.

If you're going to spend that much on a Fiesta, then it's handy to know that it's all warranted by Ford

TBH I'd rather just get the standard 1.4 Fiesta at £10k

They handle good enough anyway.

What tax band does that £18k one fall into?, insurance etc....

Def not.

Wait 3 years when its up on the forecourt for near half its orig selling price.

the thing is though some want a fiesta ST and they want it modified but don't/can't due to warranty so this is excellent for them as they can get it all done by ford and still have a warranty.

how many on here do think don't/shouldn't have a warranty anymore due to modified cars? lots and lots.

infact every remapped octavia II vRS has no warranty anymore and thats on a car that cost around 20k.

That's not entirely the case Ben is it :P

Certain parts of the warranty may not be honoured.

the other point is that the dealer modded ST is going to run rings round an Octy vRS

as an asside spend 11k on base car from motorpoint. then add the approved tuning kit..... job done.

Depends who's vRS it is:rolleyes:;):P

like everything its down to setup / driver. but im pretty sure a tuned ST will muller a remapped octy (and a remap is all you get for new car with 18k budget)

True for some

However if i spend the money to make it so i've spent £18k (assuming i can convince SWMBO to do that  ) then this £18k ST won't touch me;):P

Like i said it depends who's vRS it is. ;):P:rofl:

Comparing the Octy with this ST is a bit pointless really, bit like comparing the Octy with a Nissan X-Trail. Different vehicles for a different market.

You can buy a proper car for £18k:rolleyes:

my neighbour has a fiesta st,had a shot in it last week, suspension is very rough handling is not great and seems to be rough to drive, just my opinion, but it's octy vrs every time ,he had a go in mine and he AGREES,and i have a mk1

Like i said it depends who's vRS it is. ;):P:rofl:

if it said "whos vrs" on it my money would be on the ST for sure....

;)

Ok i'll make it easier for you.

Look on this link and look at the second car in the list. I could get that with what i have available to make it so i spent £18k. An ST Fiesta wouldnt touch that

Google Docs - rr results feb 2008

sorry I forgot it was BHP that made cars go fast....

anyhow we are at cross purposes

I spent <6 k and nowt on that list would trouble my old mk1 vRS round a track.....

Yes but if you used your discount to get the Fiesta ST then spent the remainder on mods up to the £18k mark then the ST would be faster still. :D

Either way your not really comparing apples with apples. :)

I wasnt pointing at just the BHP i was pointing at the Torque figures.

I.E 350+ lb/ft no fiesta ST is gonna touch that when it only has 147lb/ft:rolleyes::rofl:

Plus the Fiesta ST 185bhp stats are

0-62 = 6.9

129mph Top speed

Im afraid a re-mapped MKII Octy vRS will keep with to 62 and leave after that. so unless you got somereally tight twisty roads where it wont be speed but suspension is a factor i reckon your argument is flawed:P:P:rofl:

I agree we aint talkin like for like. I merely pointed out that depending whose vRS it is depends on if it will beat it

However if i bought an ST fiesta with my discount then without putting a diff engine in (as the £18k ST is probably at or very near the engine limit) then i doubt i would get it faster still:thumbup:

If I had that sort of money to spend on an small Hot hatch, then the Fiesta wouldn't get a look in as I would be knocking on Renaults door for the Clio 197 Sport.

Well with £18k to spend on a Fiesta ST the 2.3l conversion would be on the cards :cool::D IMO of course :D

NO ONE ELSE SHOULD POST ON THIS LINK IT IS A STUPID IDEA AND A WASTE OF MONEY!

WHO THE HELL WOULD SPEND 18,000 ON THAT AND WHY WAS THE 1ST ST NOT MADE LIKE THAT IN THE FIRST PLACE INSTEAD OF MAKING A VERY LUKE WARM HOTHATCH

RANT OVER

oooww... who lit the fuse on your tampon? :P:D
