Re-mapping on 1.8t companys

Featured Replies

Hi Guys,

Just been doing a bit of research on a re-mapping on my 1.8t, including forum searches:P

I've found a few reviews from the Furbys guys on "Performance Torque" which seem good, anyone from the 1.8t brigade used them? is the likes of the Jabba Map worth the extra outlay?

They seem good from the website and cracking prices, and rather local to me.

Havent used them but there pricing seems good ,Stage 1 re-map - £265 all in for members of Briskoda.

Had mine done by Jabba, can't fault them:thumbup:

As always you will get 20 different recomendations from 20 people, so best to do the reserch(as you have) & then make the choice that suits you best.

If Jabba are close to you then that's a good starting point.;)

Whoever you eventually choose I am sure you will enjoy the outcome:D:D:D

I'd avoid Jabba at all costs. Mine has been mapped by jabba and i'm having problems now with the car. Basically the map doesnt work unless i let the engine warm up then turn off and restart. Jabba insist there is no problem with the map even though it has only been doing this since visiting jabba for the work. There also veryt expensive, mainly the reson that i used them as i expected good service for good money.

My 1.8T 4X4 has been running a Jabba custom remap since 2003 with no problems apart from that caused by a faulty N75 valve 3 years later. This was diagnosed and replaced by Jabba when I had their variable boost controller fitted in 2006.

I had mine done by P Torque mate.

Will is a top bloke and to be honest remapped it spot on.

Left me a room watching Gumball for 40 minutes and by the time that had finished so had he.

The brave sod then gets in the car with you while you test drive it!

Once thats done drive back to the unit and pay the man.

All in all a good experience and worth every penny

Ive had numerous maps from Jabba & an awful lot of other work done by them. Ive been running modded cars for quite a few years & as far as the VAG cars go IMO they are the best. There are a coule of other companies on here who get good revues from those who have used them so do a trawl through the various threads

Also have a look on seatcupra.net plenty 1.8T's done by P-Torque on there

I hope you get it sorted Daz ;)

Well I DID have a Jabba custom map but as you can see from my signature it's back to standard now (Until Friday anyway :D )

Another thing now my car is back on a standard map the fault code has gone :rubchin:

On a similar thing, does anyone know any goot tuners in or near the cardiff area?

cheers

I had my car remapped by them, middle of last year and they have since had a remap day each month from then. A bargain price @ £250, which i stated what i wanted from the map to.

P-Torque are only £265 for forum members anyway so there is littel difference in price really

Hi, I used CCCtech before (Upsolute -ask for Simon Coe) for my 1.8T golf and i intend to get him round again for my new VRS as he did a great job. £250 all in and he comes to you - really nice guy too.

So fezboy whats the map like?

I jus been to see a fella near Hwest in west wales

very nice fella uses APR maps.

he also a VAG dealer and he can get parts for same price as the dealer and only 30 squid an hr if you want him to fit stuff

I got the demo map on the car at the mo and it is very nice. 440 pound though for the real one.

am thinkin of CCC coz it cheaper.

Longlife Exhausts in Cardiff use Angel Tuning.

On the Fabia it's cracking. Not sure about the 1.8T though. Worth a go. Full refund within 14 days if you aren't happy with it.

£350 for the 1.8T
