Hi,

Having only owned a Felicia for 6 months and having to do a few reapairs, I thought I'd set a poll:

What's gone wrong with your Felicia, Fun etc in last 12 months?

Feel free to post "Nothing at all" - don't mind hearing some positive things about Skodas :)

Thermostat (x2)

Headgasket (x1)

Radiator (x1)

Exhaust (x1)

Brakes (x1)

Not too bad for a family car thats driven like its chasing a ferrari:thumbup:

but more than that- its still less than £300 to replace all these parts.:D

as above

all 4 shocks x 2

exhaust x 1

anti roll bar x1

wheels x 2 sets

wishbone x 1

driveshaft x 1

head gasket x 1

front bumper x 1

air filter x 2

stat x 2

and lots more i cant remember braking or i havent had time to fix yet

The thing about having a Felicia is eventualy something will break or stop working. the best thing is 99% of the things you will be able to fix yourself, bits are fairly cheap and any info you need you can get on here

Felicia,

Its the gift that keeps on giving!

kill it, kill it, kill it til its dead, then bring it back to life:thumbup:

something wrong with mine!

Had it 8 years from new, only had to replace thermosta and part exhaust- apart from tyres/pads.

Even teh battery is original.

It won't die and give me an excuse to buy another car.

But now got a leak in offside corner of screen!

Ive had Skodas for over 20 years now and only once has one failed to get me home (my fault using water hose as a fuel pipe as a temp repair). Even with blown head gaskets, 2 gear gearboxes, and broken struts ive always got to my destination, abeit a bit late!!!

You missed out:

"Complaining about VWs involvement"

;)

1) Thermostat

2) Suspension (rusty dampers + worn balljoint)

3) Windscreen seal (but forgot to tick the box)

But a capital mistake to assume that these are complaints, they are just pleasant diversions :D

Drive harder Henry!:thumbup::D:rofl:

what woody said but louder

Lol - I ticked 10 in the past year, and I worked out I spent about £1000! maybe time for a change?! I won't buy anything else but skoda, thats all I know really.

Other car I have driven don't even match my felly!

Oh I forgot - the LED light in my ignition key has given up - SERIOUS complaint!

Mine too! Though the spare works so I took both apart to see that my normal key that I use every day is missing a piece of metal. Plus the battery looks knackered.

It'd be amusing to follow the manual and go to your local dealer to get the light repaired:rofl:

Common fely stuff:

Not fast enough!

CV Gaitors

Windscreen leakage

Thats about all ive experienced over 4 felicias in the family, 3 of which are still living! :)

you forgot to include alternator!

After 9 years and many things i do in my car, the only 2 problems i have was the support of the engine/ger box, i broke (2), i think they are very soft but i send to put some more rubber and that fixed i do more than 100000 km with that and no problems. The other problem is the lights of the dash board it burn some. Nothing more and he dont drink oil after 243000km. Very satisfed with the car.

I suppose it's worth pointing out that this Forum will probably attract people who's cars have had something go wrong with them recently - that's why I joined up.

I agree that one good thing about the Felicia is that it seems quite simple to fix - if I can get the right part! and now i've fixed the throttle body gasket it's a joy to drive :D

My only complaint about mine has to be the rust :(

I just hope it doesn't make the car die before it's time.

Other than that I love it to bits!

Add thermostat to my list... needs replacing!

How about revs dropping to ZERO on stopping at junctions sometimes, my plugs have done about 20k, maybe need replacing.

So it's Rust, Windscreens and Suspension that are the major things to look forward to.

Suspension and Thermostats are the common sellers at work.

I knew i'd forget someting!

I'm amazed that some of you guys have had 2 thermostats - is that in the last 12 months?

Having seen what some of you guys have been through I'm not so worried about my few minor part changes.

In the 12 months that i have owned my 1.3 mpi hatch, the only problems as such came with the car, these were the rear shocks and the CV boots. It seemed generally much happier with coolant, oils and filters changed, and since then, no probs, with the exception of a rear shock problem caused by the garage that fitted them! (see my own thread ' felicia MOT shox' posted today. The battery has deteriorated despite being maintained. It was new on the car when purchased, and is still doing its job despite the cold mornings. Must give it a boost now i think about it......

I was often stalling at lights or when parking and it turned out to be a air leak on the throttle body gasket. Have you checked the possibility of that yet? Or it could be an air leak around the inlet manifold.

Fixing it has made the engine much smoother and better low revs power.
