Dave also breathes pure helium to help lighten the load !!

What is needed to run in a track day?

Cage?

Not quite.

You need a roadworthy car and by that I mean in good condition (As well as nothing falling off it you should be confident the car can take the abuse your going to throw at it so all aspects should be checked. I have lost count of the lads who do a few laps and then end up on the grass or with massive repair bill with shafted brakes, turbo, tyres, exhaust etc because they didn't check the oil, pads, pressures, fluids etc).

You will also need a long sleve top (A lot of companies running track days and tracks themselves require your arms are covered) and a crash helmet (You dont need anthing fancy just something in good condition which you can do the strap up on).

The most important piece of equipment you will need is your head, preferably attached to your body and fully functioning  This is the most important piece of kit fitted to your car and without it you could have a nasty accident. You might think I am coming across a bit harsh there but it goes for anyone who goes out on track. Your not racing but if you don't keep yourself in check this type of thing happens

Camp corner takes another...

Must add, my car contains nothing other than 2 lightwieght front seats, dash, and spare wheel. Everything else has been removed, so my power to wieght ratio is drastically different to a fully trimmed car.

Just removing the back seats, shelf and spare saves 60 KG!

(Yes, I weighed them all before my last track day and boy did it make a difference )

I'm kinda stuffed having an estate with towbar then

the driver of the evo was a complete tool and should be done for that piece of driving, completely and 100% his fault.

Not quite.

Yeah my car should be fine if a little slow

312's and helix clutch which should do the job on track, could do with some nice slicks though

You could could you? I have some toyo 888s on steelies for right money ;)

Just to add to that, I opted for an open face helmet as it doesn't restrict your view of other cars so much, it's cheaper (mine was about 50 quid from Demon Tweaks and MSA approved), and it's also much cooler than a full face one, especially if you're on track in the summer months.

Wehey, take it you havent read my wanted post:thumbdwn:

Ahh, but have you read his for sale post??!

It was posted first - logically you'd look in the For Sale section, before posting a Wanted ad :)

Steve

Dave and Jason, have you timed a 0-100mph run, would be interested to know what your cars can do... :)
