Thanks Guys. Geoff, if you can let me know the guys number that would be great. Ta muchly...

Just for the record I haven't done anything. SWMBO and the kids have... Mrs Jimmy decides to park the Audi next to mine but within a couple of feet. The 'logic' being to stop the kids from riding their bikes in between the cars.

Anyhow, what she forgets to take into account is that when they want to go out in the car again Jimmy Jr likes to open his own door but finds the operation thwarted somewhat by the Octavia. So, Audi rear door swings open and connects rather violently just above the rear wheelarch.

The best bit is SWMBO is on her way to pick me up from a pals house where i've been partaking in some drinking type activities whilst watching the cup final. She takes the opportunity whilst my guard is down in a somewhat inebriated state to tell me and I quote "One of the kids has marked the car, but it's only small" What she conveniently forgets to mention is the big F*ck Off dent that goes with it. Que blazing row and slamming doors... This morning with a thick head I am confused but it all seems to be my fault somehow.

Know how your feeling.

My wife has had 2 similar "blind" occurances.

First was a car that pulled out into her at a junction. She sees the black rubbing mark and lets the driver go with a "Oh that will clean off, off you go" but totally missus the bent wing he has left us with.

Second was "minor bump" she said she had with the Octy..on our drive....with a skip (not Skoda) that was there (mine). Thanks dear, minor bump.. no ,rear quarter bent ..yes.

Jimmy,

I can't find the receipt with the local number on right now, but if you call 0800 028 7878 they'll put you in contact.

They'll come out and give you a free estimate, and also tell you if they can fix it on site, or if it's really a bodyshop job.

Edit..

James, thous hast an sms ;)

Jimmy,

Just to give you some idea of what they can do, here's the before & after pics from mine..

Think I'll be giving them a call too.

Some **** in my works car park left a dent in my o/s/r door a month ago - right on the crease.

It looks like the height of a 4x4, but no b'stard owned up to it. :(

Could have been any of a number of them, so difficult to accuse - none of their paint left just a dent the size of a 50p piece.

Andy

I can recommend Mike who has the Thornaby franchise. Very good.

Just had the 'Chipsaway' guy out and it looks like it can be repaired fairly easily although access to the inside of the panel is rather restrictive. He's fairly confident that once the shroud around the fuel filler is removed he'll be able to use this as an access point. Anyway, all in the repair will sting me (sorry my Mrs) for

Jimmy,

Yep, local ChipsAway guy has a fully signposted van, complete with accident damaged & repaired area to show off his skills :)

Good to hear its a relatively easy & cheap repair too

An update. Guy turned up at 15:15 and left by 15:45 and I can honestly say I am well impressed. There is absolutely no sign of any previous damage whatsoever..

I've just had 'Dentmaster' quote me

Remember, franchises aren't cheap and he'll have transport & equipment costs to take into account.

Geoff, He's a one man band in a little Fiesta van. No big franchise costs to worry about and his tools must have cost no more than a few hundred quid.

I asked about the relationship with Chipsaway and apparently C'away do all the paintwork repairs but for dings / dents they sub the work to himself and another guy in the area. Hats off to the Chipsaway guy he just put me in direct contact with him. Saves paying the middle man....

But how much value has he put BACK on the car for you?

;)

And more importantly think of the hassle you would have given him if the paint were marked or it wasnt a perfect job?

Andy, he's just a Scrooge who hates paying for a decent job, i'm sure you've come across plenty in your line of work, same as i have in mine. ;)

Oh ye of little faith ;) I just wouldn't have paid him if it wasn't spot on. Anyway, as it is the job was spot on and this bunny is now happier again....
