Got me a Halfords trade card :D

Featured Replies

Went in with a print out of their website which says you can use a large number of parts invoices as proof. Got together all my Skoda Dealer parts counter invoices and went along and asked for a trade card, guy behind the counter had to check with manager as I wasn't a "mechanic" but he ok'd it.

Apparently there are some big savings to be had on bulbs but all I've got so far is brake cleaner with a saving of £1.10.

See here for some examples of discounts with the card.

So save some old parts invoices (Halfords says in last 3 months but the one's I showed them only the top one was in last 3 months :D) and save yourself a little if you ever find yourself in Halfrauds.

I use mine quite a bit as halfords tools are quite good and a lot cheeper than snap on

Get 10% off through work but that involves buying vouchers and doing it that way.

I've had mine through the Vauxhall Owners Network for nearly 3 years.

We are the only Owner's Club to have the scheme with individual cards for each member; and Halfords aren't likely to offer it to any others either (well that was said by them a while back...)

It's repaid for the £15 a year club membership many a time... ;)

Heck, i know people who just pay the £15 p/a for the card alone... Not that the VxON Club minds, it's more money for the CLub Kitty to help organise events, merchandise etc

Skud's supposed to be sorting some out ......

I'd like to get one of these, anyone want to help me out? Pretty please :)

All I used was a couple of parts invoices from a skoda dealer. You could probably get away with ordering a couple of trim clips for one invoice, maybe some other bits for another invoice, and maybe some screen wash or something? - hopefully the manager will agree - suppose if he doesn't you can try another Halfords.

Would recommend printing this page out that says parts invoices are acceptable Halfords Advice Centre -

Suppose the other option is a fake wage slip, for for example BJ's Garage, but that could be considered fraud. If you search for "replacement wage slip" on ebay erm there's a few auctions where you can give creative details.

Sush, lol. Still sat on my desk:O

Skud, do you work for halfords? Or can you sort me out one please? :D

I've got one which I use quite a lot for tools etc. Normally 20% off the tools I think.

Servicing consumables are normally well priced.

I recently managed to get one of these too... Typically I had already bought all the things I needed at the time, so I haven't used it since... Will definitely come in handy in the future though...

Guess I'll have to get summit sorted then - worth the effort :)

I Have one and I can use it to help out any Briskoda Members in the Bristol/North Somerset Area. Just PM Me.

I work for halfords as a 2nd job and have one of these as all employess are eligable and can vouch for the savings you get with it,some things arent great but others are fantastic.......got a set of side light bulbs for 49p

Well if you want 10% of vouchers and don't mind waiting a short while I'm happy to help, but tbh I've always found if you find a good local motor factors they will beat halfords hands down on nearly everything with the exception of car cleaning stuff.

  • 1 month later...

On the back of this thread I got one of these the other day.

Walked in, showed my payslip (i'm a mineral surveyor!!). Guy said no probs, 2 mins later. Bingo.

Just need something to buy now!

Mark

Cheers for this.

Got three pairs of bulbs with an RRP of £2.49 each for a total of £1.42 today!
