Do you have Revo?

Featured Replies

Just wondering what your thoughts are on it, and how much you payed.

Thinking of getting it done.

Cheers

REVO isn't the most popular of maps for the Fabia. I think it is a little less aggressive than some of the others.

^ or a little MORE agressive even ;)

If you are after a remap, then I and many others will say that Angel Tuning produces excellent results, and the gains are excellent, yet at the same time sensible enough to stay within the tolerances of the original clutch and turbo. AND, it only costs £300.00 or £275.00 if you go to one of their outlets.

Many will say on here that REVO has eaten their standard clutch.

Ive had revo for over 90k miles, (105 total) and am still on the original clutch and turbo..

these days maps are very similar, my Revo map has always usually been one of the most powerful PD130's on RR days :)

i would definately recommend it

I mention Revo as ive heard good things elsewhere on SeatCupra etc, im not after a too agressive remap anyway Stu...

I was trying to intimate that less agressive is often better in terms of clutch and DMF wear.

I'm sure people will say that x or y software has 'eaten' their clutch but IMHO it is often about how you drive it. If you boot it at low RPM in a high gear and over torque everything then of course wear will occur.

Hehe.

I'd say all maps could potentially screw your clutch, just depends on how you treat it after a remap, if you want to make full use of the map and low down grunt you will need an uprated clutch for this, i love 6th at around 55mph ;)

My vrs knackered its clutch with a star performance map and my friends with a superchips map clutch was on the way out - before he sold

To be honest i dont often drive hard, so i think a standard clutch might be ample

Doing this with a standard clutch with a standard map isn't a good idea?

recommend jabbasports custom remap, can be tailored to your needs

Loving my Jabba map - I am being careful with my standard clutch and do intend too replace when funds allow.

I'm another one for a Jabba Custom map. I took my car up there with just 800 miles on the clock - did a fantastic job. Lovely smooth power curve, and they made it as smokey as I requested it. Lovely drive up there also from down South. :P

well in the fiat, I've gone for angel tuning, because its well within the limits of the clutch, (a gentle map) apparently my engine will map straight to 190 bhp (If you look in the general car chat, youll see a graph from a bravo with this engine, RR'd to 195bhp)

BUT, it will kill my standard clutch apparently... I was a little dissapointed when I got it RR'd and it only came out at circa 160 bhp.... howver, the clutch has never slipped, and still feels like new (36k so far, mapped at 4k...)

so, I'm quite happy, makes it a hot hatch instead of a "warm" hatch, the handling/brakes ect can easy cope with it as standard, and my clutch should have a normal life of 100k..... (and thank GOD, after reading the thread about kkk turbos going bang, I went out and checked, and mine is a garrett !) *phew.....

Nice one mate, giving advice from an experience. Honestly...

So, you couldn't drive properly before because you didn't know how too, then blamed it on the clutch, but now you've upgraded it, you don't have to adjust your driving style?

:D

So how do you choose between Revo, Angel Tuning, and Jabba sport then? There all between £300 & £400 i think. So which is going to be most engine friendly if going for a sensible remap?

Any advise, really can't make up my mind.

Out of the 3 suggested. I would choose Jabbasport because of there experience. Just ignore the figures your car gets on the rolling road.

It's all down to a personal choice really, what suits one person may not suit another The only thing that definitively sperates the three is the REVO is switchable.

I'd go with Snoopie. Jabba all the way! When I had a faulty Vacuum Block causing boost issues Jabba diagnosed the problem and where very helpful!

I thought the Revo maps for diesels weren't switchable?

A friend is trying to convince me to go Revo, I'm undecided (although Neo's post has made me more interested).

Helix clutch and SMF ;)

LOL

The tell tale signs were there, i dont know when it was mapped but started slipping after 2k miles of my ownership - i cant screw a clutch in that amount of time :thumbdwn:

I knew it was a Snoopie comment

I drove my fabia VERY hard for 45k, with a map that contained an enourmous torque spike, and when it was taken out, it was barely worn. The DMF however self destructed not much after. I maintain its the way you drive them.
