4th Service

Featured Replies

My car is coming to it's 4th service, it has just under 30K on the clock.

Just wondering what i should be expecting to be done at this time.

I'm going to get the plugs done, when is the cam belt and other things due?

Many Thanks

I notice its an 04, timing belt change time!

Definitely cambelt/tensioner & water pump recommended . Glow plugs can probably stay on for a few more years/miles. As mentioned before, 4 year service is a major one: all the filters (apart from your K&N!) and brake fluid change.

Hi,

If you mean glow plugs, I never had them touch mine, I never really use them, the old girl starts on the turn of the key.

I killed the turbo just after the 60k service so it's had 3 oil changes in 1,000 miles :D

Sorry to sound a bit dumb but are cam belt and timing belt different things?

How much can i expect to shell out for this little lot?

I'm getting my timing belt done 2moro at my Skoda dealer, £250.

Timing belt and cam belt are different names for the same thing! :) You can find more info here: http://briskoda.net/forums/technical-guides/fabia-vrs-timing-belt-change-diy/104046/

Price wise - main dealer will be about 300 quid (get the waterpump done at the same time, and the alternator belt too as they'll be taking it off anyway to get to the timing belt), indy around 200 quid. Service cost will be on top of that, roughly another 300 quid! HTH.
