Anyone want a fabia vRS SE?

60mpg cruising????? In your dreams.....................

Interesting to see what it fetches though I have one with 7k miles on. Being serviced next week.

Thats what i'm getting in mine as well. !!!

If you take it out of gear going downhill you'll be wasting fuel. The ECU detects over-run and shuts down the injectors, thus using NO fuel. When you take it out of gear the engine settles to idle, using fuel to keep running. On a 2 mile trip to the mother-out-laws last week I got our Octy up to 117mpg average as she is mostly downhill from us

BOT - Is it just me, or is everyone else waiting 'til SE's sell for more realistic prices  I'm afraid a nice colour, leather seats and a few attractive options don't make me want to part with £3k more than a similar non-SE vRS :finger:

Well 1000 owners cant be wrong can they?!? i agree its a premium, but then i would not consider one without leather seats tbh and finding a standard vrs with leather is difficult as you guys all know.

I really enjoy having a slightly different car that you dont see everyday..well saying that i have seen one other se in bristol!

When i was looking about a month ago i found all the vrs prices had gone up with the dealers streets skoda had a red vrs with 3k on it, built 07 they wanted £12k for that - told me they could get a se for £13.5 with around 15k on the clock - i bought privately so i guess i did ok.

Surely and ltd edition car is going to hold the price better than a standard car, thats just the way it is..

And for the jokers out there who compare these to a lotus elise...WTF!! i have owned an s1 elise - never will ANY fabia handle or give you such a big big smile handling is super duper fantastic....yes they are not the fastest cars anyone with half a brain knows that elises are not fast they just handle incredible.

Saying that i have been in an s1 elise with a 1.8t audi engine in and yes that was quick!...notice he did not compare to to a vx220 turbo..**** head probably does not even know what they are!!

Having said all that about that guy i do feel for him in a way as myself have had to justify to lots of people why i bought a SKODA after owning some nice motors - guess people still dont value them as good little cars which are good on mpg and insurance and service costs..sure i would love to have bought another Audi, but a new Audi a3 would cost me twice what i payed for my se and is it really twice as good.....NO!..yes it is a fantastic car with super build quality and a nice badge..

How do you actually get music in the background to an ebay listing?

thinking it'll give your type r ad the edge?

Style over substance?

Surely that's the wrong way round?

That second one posted was up on ebay before I think. Obviously can't have got what he wanted for it.

Not sure there are realistic reserve prices on them though ;)

Hi - Don't live in bristol anymore still work their though - i usually see the other SE on the roundabout by the willy wicket pub between 7-8am and also seen it about 4pm on said roundabout.

If you see me around flash me and i will do like wise!...what colour are your wheels i will keep an eye out!

Its got 19K on the clock, and I think those are the original tyres...is so then its definitly been looked after for that 19K. I'd say thats a good buy.

I'm not sure how "well looked after" a car is that's done nearly 20k miles in under a year

Have to disagree with you - i done over 25k in my audi a3 and that was very well looked after indeed!!! beleive me im really picky about mileage, when i had the works 1,9 vw golf with 30k on it i saw how unwell that was loved...

A car that has done 20k motorway miles in top gear and at low revs for prolonged periods on silky smooth straight roads will [probably] be in a better condition mechanically than one which has done 4k miles in short trips around town. The short trips will see lots of clutch and gear use, and often the engine will not get anywhere near it's optimum operating temperature where the oil can properly lubricate. The steering and suspension components are also put under much more stress during low speed urban driving. I've often saved money by buying high-milers which are devalued and yet they have always been supremely reliable. Friends and neighbours with low mile cars often have problems however. I fully understand the desire to buy or own as low mile a car as possible, but it isn't always the most logical and sensible option.

one strange thing i've noticed..it was registered in may 07, but tax is until aug 08..you can only tax 6 months or 12 months ??????

Yep, that's exactly what I thought.

Careful now. You're heading into Welshy territory! ;)

My Superb was registered in Sept 05 but wasn't delivered to the dealers till December 05! I took delivery Jan 06.

It's doable if you're not in a hurry. Down to Surrey and back over the Easter weekend I had mine on cruise control at 65 except through the roadworks when I took it down to 50. 520 miles at an average of 59.9 mpg.

Some nice piccies on there for a fleabay ad :)

How in god's name did you do that, i did 140 miles at the weekend to Newcastle at 50/60 mph tops and the best i could get was 52mpg and that was nursing it :thumbdwn:

The fabia's fuel consumption isn't that great :(

Officially you should be able to get up to 64.2mpg....

Warmer air down south?

i would love an SE....just for the colour and leather....shame they are so expensive :(

I'm not sure what he set the reserve at but I would have thought that would have ended for more and have found a home.....then again I guess the next stepping stone would be 11K, and that is a fair amount for a year old Furby. Its very difficult to judge really. It does make me wonder though, I have an 07 Plate Silver vRS with 17K on the clock. I would have thought that would be worth 10.5K, but now I know its not.

Would you buy a SE for £10850? I think I may have done a deal but is it too good to be true for the price?
