Octy Mk1 Bora 1.8t Same Exhaust?

Featured Replies

I have been looking around a bit on the Ebay and as there a few more VW golfs gti's out there than Skoda's that thier parts are more plentiful and hence cheaper!

One advert i saw had a Bora 1.8t cat back stainless exhaust (which i would imagine shares the same mounting points) but this also fitted the 1.9 tdi!

Also is the Mk4 golf gti/leon cupra the same length exhaust system or is it shorter? The Octy looks longer or is it a trick of the light?

Hi i bought a full milltek on saturday

and the cat was off a leon, axle pipe from a 1.9 tdi another was a bora part

so they must all fit each other

Ouch!

Your right always the way, thats why i dont really want to replace a perfectly good exhaust until it starts blowing! Is the clutch a big job on the VRS?

the bora shares the whole same system as the mk1 octy as my milltek fits both

There is one thing you should check. Some Boras have exhaust cutouts while others do not. If you have a non-VRS you need a non-cutout exhaust from a Bora. If you have a VRS you use the cutout one.

A Golf exhaust will fit but will need modification on the rear tip/silencer since it is shorter (less rear overhang on the body).

I have a Greddy SP2 from a Jetta 1.8 non-cutout currently fitted to my 1.6 8V Octy without trouble.
