HP Printer Hack

Featured Replies

Looks like that you print to the printer via a queue on a print server so you'll need to go to the physical printer itself and print a banner sheet to find the IP....

Hmmm, no joy there either... printed a configuration page from the printer itself - no mention of an IP address :(

Is the printer a standalone network jobbie (it'll have an ethernet cable coming out the back of it, possibly from a fag packet sized box) or does it use USB/parallel connectivity direct to a PC that is then shared?

So what do I put in the IP address box??

You can always do an nslookup.

click > start > run > type cmd, at the dos prompt type nslookup and press return

then type the printer name and press return. If DNS is OK then it should give you the printers ip addy. Have fun.

If any of you IT saboteurs are in West Yorks i`ll cry.
