so its not unbranded then :)

obviously O2 liked that update but haven't got to grips with the latest upgrade ;)

its simple now, either debrand or live with it and wait for O2 :)

That clears that up then.

F*** it ......................

That product code should give you access to the generic software anyway. Ill check the matrix tomorrow.

Apologies fatty, I've quite possibly confused things by assuming you'd been through the unbranding procedure.

My bad :o

Thats what I though tbh.

That would be nice if you can have a little look for me :thumbup::thumbup:

I don't have access to it here otherwise I would check now but I need to be on the network to get it. Latest one I have here is dated 02/09/08 which by now will be useless.

Martin ........did you have a look today ????

I did today.

V30 is available for the generics but is not currently available as a package from Nokia (Meaning I can't get hold of it and this means that none of the other NSP's can  )

Because I can't install it I can't find out if this product code (Which runs generic software for all other versions) will run with v30 using the service software.

I really do believe that Nokia hate their customers, they certain don't like to make things easy for the people who service their products  It's really not right that the NSU is more upto date than their service network.

Ill work on this and keep you posted.

What anoys me is how operators can hold up variants.

Orange FFS are still only on v13! I know that one had some issues, so it's 21 or bust for me.

But then the N96 is out soon, and Tmob are better at approving updates.

It's not always the networks that slow it down.If you knew the guy (Or one of them) at Nokia who approves them it would make sense...

It's bloody crap TBH and it means that we have to hold many versions per handset. The complete package weight for the 6500s with all the current varients and versions we have to apply takes up 14.3gb of hard disk!

Can you give FW guy a prod for me ;)

My Orange care crap forbids debranding. I hope T-mob's insurance firms arent so strict, and will offer me the 24hr replacement cover I have now.

I wish I could do more than just prod him

Not sure on the Tmob insurance products. Orange care is good at what it does as long as you stay within the rules. Mind you, you know the replacements are all refurbs?

I am sorry if the following post is inappropriate, but I just NEED to understand what is going on here:

NSU tells me I have a Nokia N95-8Gb, since it is RM-320 (correct me if I am wrong)

it correctly identifies current version and available version.

BUT on the label ot says I have 0557135 as product code (which I suppose is Voda-UK, N95-8Gb

Yet when I check with NSS, the product code is: 0549487

Q1: What does product code 0549487 stands for.

Q2: What or where is the product code for a N95-8Gb, black, with Nokia untouched FW?

Q3: If I leave the product code as it stands now, will I encounter problems?

Q4: Anybody aware of issues with FW v30.0.018?

Many thanks, apologies if I have breached any forum rules

As if by magic...

V30 turned up on the server today.

You can take it into town as we now have a repair centre on Queen Street. Let me know if your going in.

I will do although I hate town, but the missus might drag me in soon.
