Yeah just done mine, its not too happy about the apps that were installed on the phone memory before update, but its no biggie, will just re-install

Cheers Col

All done

Nice one Col, cheers - will update later.

Just wish they'd sort the Bluetooth issue, so it would work properly with BT car kits

Seems it's a problem that plagues the whole N-Series...

Steve

This firmware seems to have sorted the bug I had where sometimes I'd slide it open and it would turn off...

Also seems to have made the wireless more reliable and freed up more ram for the user.

Ive noticed its a bit quicker too.. although i did have loads of crap installed before

The biggie with this fw is FlashLite3 which means the phone is now compatible with streaming flash videos (like bbc iplayer)

It had a little mental moment with my nokia hands free kit when I first synced it, but it sorted itself after I knocked the ignition off for about 20 mins:confused:

I did panic as theres no going back with firmwares iirc

Yes, some of us aren't tech whores like you :P:P and besides I signed an 18 month contract:O

I still use mine, lets hope this firmware is more stable than the previous one.

I have no plans to change phones either, the N95 does everything I need.

Cheeky feck!

i have you know i still use my N95.. the piephone is no match for it!

Agree with comments above, There's still nowt out there that would tempt me away from my N95. It's still going strong even after I dropped it in a cup of hot steamy tea!

NSU is telling me i'm running the current version, i'm guessing mine isn't a Euro 1 phone though it is definately unbranded. It shows up as a Nokia N95 (RM-159)

Mine too .....wierd as mine is unbranded:confused:

My product code doesn't show up on that list. Odd... Orange UK supplied. Hmm

Just taking the plunge and mine is updating as we speak.

when you unbranded are you meaning unlocked as debranded and unlocked are completely different.

did you change the product code on your handset or buy it direct from nokia as otherwise its a branded phone :)

Is it me, or is the version of nokia maps included with the firmware older than the maps 2.0 available to download from the nokia website.

So far so good with this firmware, just reinstalling apps at the moment.

mines doing its thing as we speak so i don't know yet :)

All up and running now, after restoring some bits from the backup I took before hand (contacts/files). I decided to clean install the apps to get a phone with less crap installed. The maps version in the firmware IS newer than the one on Nokias site though.

how do i find out what firmware mine is running , haven't a clue where to find it

and do i need the nokia software disc loaded onto the laptop to access the internet to do the firmware upgrade

sorry for the daft questions , i am technically incompetant with this phone

found device software

V20.0.015 , well out of date methinks

now how do i update it :o

and do i have to back it up first ?

20.0.015 isn't that out of date, might even be the last one.

i would suggest a back up first yes :)

and no matter what version of the software updater you have it will need updating or is that just me?!

plug it in, back it up then click on software upgrade or something and let it do its thing, takes ages mind as its about 120MB download!
