Heads up for Aldi!!!!

Featured Replies

Aldi from Sunday are doing their APC (£3.99) which is cracking stuff and can be diluted down. Good for alloys as it's non-acidic.

They also have the Powercraft Pressure Washers again for £80 which is a rebranded Karcher.

Nice one, might have to pop down if i remember/ get chance

Thanks for the info, very handy to know these sorts of things. I think I looked and thought it was a little overpriced for a no-name cheapie but considering it is a Karcher it seems good value. I guess that's why it says "as good as the leading brand" but I usually take such claims with a pinch of salt.

Here's a similarly specced one, but not the same for £250 Karcher KB6060 Pressure Washer 130 Bar 2.1kW 240V - Screwfix.com, Where the Trade Buys

All Purpose Cleaner. Does exactly what it says on the tin!

It can be used at different dilution ratios for interior and exterior. I used it for alloys and wheel arches. Once a year the whole car gets a going over to remove wax and surface contaminants.

You can also use it safely on seats and plastic trim but needs to watered down a fair dit to something like 25 or 50 to 1.

The power washer is the same as the one I got 2 years ago and it get used regularily and doesn't miss a beat. It's not all about pressure figures but flow rate thats more important!

So does this stuff remove wax?

So does this stuff remove wax?

Yes it does when diluted to around 10:1 you would be using it before polishing the car anyway which would remove any thats left.

You need to let it dwell for about 5 minutes then rinse off and go onto your normal washing routine.

If you just do your wheels and don't want it on your paintwork but get some overspray then just rinse off straight away and it'll be fine.

Its featured on the Aldi website too.

I picked up the APC today. A little strange as the offer starts on Sunday but I didn't complain. That was in the Livingston branch for anyone local, not sure on other branches.

Does anyone own this Pressure Washer and is it any good?

It's a slightly revised version of the one I've got, both Powercraft.

I got mine 2 years ago when I was thinking of a Lavor Tiger but after reviews and recommendations on DW I went for this and for £80 given the spec it's an absolute steal.

The hose could be longer but it's on a par with most machines and I've never used the rotary brush. It also has a detergent tank but itn't necessary if you have an Autobrite lance or similar but works well if you just want to cover the car in soapy water.

All the tools sore nicely and is neat.

I'd say it's a £200-£250 pressure washer for £80.

HTH.

Thanks for the heads up mate.........

Went to my local Aldi last night and the had the washers but no APC. Will go back tomorrow and see!

So i take it flash APC is not the same then?

I think i will have to try some, the cars looking a little dull at the mo.

Got some today, although had to ask as they hadn't even put the pallet out on the shop floor!

Seems like you have to dilute this stuff quite a lot? The containers says 100ml APC to 10 litres of water?!

As this will be used to clean wheel arch inners and lower/under car parts and maybe some of the engine bay is this about right?

Whats the best dilution ratio do we know?

For wheels and arches I use around 10 or 20 to 1 but for interior fabrics anything from 50 to 100 to 1.

On the wheels let it dwell but not dry, for stubborn stuff agitate and clean off thoroughly. Pressure washer would remove then wash the same area with your normal shampoo.

HTH.

Didn't buy any APC but just got one of the Pressure Washers and all looks good, I was offered any Karcher with a 40% discount but this washer is much better value for money even with 40% off those Karcher units............

I picked up a couple of bottles of the APC yesterday for use on wheeels/tyres and wheel arches but I'm at a bit of a loss with dilution. Megs APC looks stronger (based on nothing more scientific than it's a deeper green :P) and that gets diluted 4:1 for arches etc, is that a suitable dilution ratio for this stuff to be effective.

I have heard that this Aldi APC is not that good?
