Thanks but as I live in Ireland I do not know what a 55 plate is?

55 plate is september 2005 and on

yours is definitely a mk1

or just to be confusing its the MK II of the octy 1 then the 2nd generation came out in 05. altho i had thought it was introduced in 2004... hmm

mk2 is 2004, there are some 54 plates around here, but the mk1 vrs lived on until early 2006.

the mk1 is still available in the uk, marketed for the taxi trade. also its still around in europe, sold as the octavia tour.

for 2003, deffo mk1 though.

Interestingly I saw an 07 Mk 1 a few weeks back - looked like it was a taxi.

Was going to say, we own one on an 05 plate!

Funny enough, I saw an 07 plate Mk1 in Liverpool last weekend.

On topic, I would say definatley a Mk1 mate, have a look at the skoda website and check out the octy pics, if your's does not look like that, it's a Mk1 (not the most technical way, but it works :))

But in any case, Mark 1s don't look the same as Mark 2s. Though there is a family resemblance, they are not difficult to tell apart? Whole front end is different, boot on Mk 2 has a much higher chunkier look, etc.

They plan to continue manufacturing the mk1 until 2010. They are still available for sale as diesel taxis.
