Cat-X and I quote,

"Category X - Insurance-speak for 'Not Recorded', but subject to some claim and sold on by them as repairable salvage. Not recorded on registers at HPI, AA, .. or known at DVLA. Very light damage, or vehicle is fairly new. Requires minimal repair work."

HTH,

(and also that you get your stuff back Leon! Fingers crossed mate - what a nightmare :grumpy: )

so why write the f'in thing off!! i dont understand.

Thanks Steve!

Also is cat D worse than cat C?

Having now looked at the eBay page Leon, that statement is just in their T&Cs at the bottom. It's just standard text they're using to cover themselves.

For your old car, they don't seem to mention any category at all.

And to answer your general question - yes, Cat-C is worse than D. C would be a repairable, but with more damage than D. D usually refers to minimal damage. Getting more severe, Cat-B does not permit the car to be put back on the road, but that parts from it can be sold on. Finally, Cat-A is severe damage and nothing is allowed to be salvaged/re-used, with the vehicle being crushed.

F'in idiots!!! I've never known aything to be so annoying its like talking to brick walls.

jeese! just rung up norwich union total loss dept, they told me to ring blue cycle, blue cycle said they had sent me all the stuffwhere I can clearly see there is still a polar bear in the rear view mirror wich is a pretty sentimental gift a few years ago stupid I know. but anyway they said they didnt see a cd player in the car... well it would of been useless to anyone who would of nicked it because I had the face plate!!

and why should I be doing this its NU's fault anyway!!

I wrote to trading standards the other day who told me to write to NU and then Ombusman (or what ever) why do i need to do this. if they had just listend to me when I told them not to take the damn thing.

Im so fed up!
