Moto Gp Estoril..

Featured Replies

FP3 times. With the exception of Edwards who's flying the rest are all very close.

Remember, Toseland has never been to Estoril before;)

Both Edwards and Toseland have the New engine.

Not used to seeing Stoner mid pack, suppose he'll be up there though come Q'fying and the race (hope not though):P!

I'm a bit surprised to see Stoner way down in 9th!!!

Much bigger differences in the times over the entire field than the last GP.

I'll be cheering for my usual 2moro, Rossi, Toseland and Hayden!!!!

How impressive has Toseland been so far BTW??:thumbup::thumbup:

GO GUYS!!!!

Ian:)

How good is it to see Toseland doing so well in all 3 early GPs?? He's got to get on the podium this year surely??

Great ride aslo from Lorenzo, who we shouldn't forget is also 'new boy' for this season and is proving to be a contendor for the title.

I think it's gonna be a hard fought battle this year for 'top dog', with Pedrosa, Lorenzo and Stoner battling it out. I'm not gonna slate Rossi, but I think he'll start slipping down the leader board from now on in.

Oh yeah, shame about Dovioso, he was doing so well!!

Lance

But am watching midget racing on Sunday

That's not very PC now is it?

PM sent.

I'm not gonna slate Rossi, but I think he'll start slipping down the leader board from now on in.

Casey seems to be the man doing the slipping :P:D

Bit of confusion at the start, mix up with grid positions. Did you see Casey after the race, the head is really starting to hang. None of the other Ducati's were anywhere near on form, whats up with them?

None of them are EVER on form bar Casey!!

All seems a bit odd really, doesn't it? At both today's and the last race weekends, Stoner had a real look of worry and panic on his face. I really can't see the package being that good last season and so bad this season, especially considering the first 2008 GP result........I think Stoner and/or the bike will return to form very soon, however it's clear that he isn't going to have it all his own way this year........................should make for a real good seasons racing.

It also looks as if michelin have been busy over the winter months.

I was thinking this also.

Looks like Rossi's decision to switch to Bridgestone MAY turn around and bite him on the ar$e??

Yea would agree alright, even the reaction when people get in his way, he's not the same easy going guy, something is really bothering him.

Yeah, 11th and a 6th, THATS whats bothering him:rofl::P

Ian:)

Stoner :-

Looks like the other leading manufacturers have caught up with Ducati for power, and that indeed Michelin have greatly improved.

And, Valentino is going to be well peed if Bridgestone don't come up with the goods - reminiscent of the VW TV ad about switching to gold just when everyone else was moving away from it.

Maybe Stoners a one hit wonder like Hayden?;) Yes maybe Rossi has made a mistake switching tyres but this is a new challenge and at the moment he is the best bridgestone rider. He hasn't done bad for non bridgestone tracks with two podiums. I am afraid to say we are witnessing a challenger to Rossi's crown. I certainly believe it did not slip loosing to Hayden in 2006 and Stoner in 2007 but Lorenzo is on fire at the moment.

Yeah, I pretty much agree with CAJA.

I like Jorge too. :D Actually, he reminds me of a younger Vale, with straight hair.

Yeah, at the moment. Suppose 2 out of 3 aint bad??

I'm one of Rossi's biggest fans, but he's gona have to get used to these Bridgestones quicker if he's wanting this years Title.

Lorenzo is going to be a bigger threat over a longer period of time than any previous rider i think??

Second that with Lorenzo. Look doing something outside the box makes a true champion, what did they say when Rossi went to Yamaha. And who's been developing the Yamaha over the last few years for the likes of Lorenzo, Edwards and Toseland to benefit from. Lets see what happens in China a Bridgestone track ? I think its the Bridgestones getting used to the Yamaha rather that Rossi getting used to the tyres. This is brewing up to a cracker of a year. Three different winners in three races got to good for the sport.

Lorenzo has "clicked" with the Yamaha package, just like Stoner did with the Ducati last year.

Just look at his stats so far this year:-

3 poles in 3 races.

3 podiums in 3 races.

A win in the 3rd race.

Very impressive for a rookie.

Like I said best Bridgestone rider at the moment.

I must be missing the point here? So what if Rossi is the best placed Bridgestone rider? Last year he was frequently the best placed Michelin rider, but still finishing behind the front runner.

Consistently being the best of the rest is to some degree, irrelevant and is very unlikely to win the championship if the same riders keep finishing at the front.
