EddyH's Audi S8

Featured Replies

As I've been asked I thought I'd post up some details and pics of my lastest car.

Car

Audi S8 in volcano black pearl with black silk nappa leather.

Engine

Standard 4.2 V8 with a Green cotton panel filter.

Transmission

Standard 5 speed Tiptronic gearbox.

Suspension

Standard Springs with Bilstein dampers.

Brakes

Front brakes are RS4 discs with RS6+ 8pot calipers, rears are standard.

Wheels & Tyres

Genuine Audi A8 19x8.5 wheels with 255/40/19 Pirelli P-Zero tyres.

ICE & Security

Standard headunit, boot mounted sat nav, hidden phoenix gold amps and sub in boot.

It's a really nice car to drive, lots of toys like electric heated memory seats, electric sun blind, electric rear seats, etc...

The photos are of the car as I got it other than it's had a clean. Future plans are as follows:

Short Term

Clear side repeaters (did that tonight)

Diadem indicators

Remove all stickers

Aero wipers

New style badges

Remove car kits

Remove boot install (excluding amp powering main speakers)

Treat leather with new dye and leather milk

Aluminium instrument cluster rings

Medium Term

Facelift front armrests

Facelift centre console and switches

RNS-E DVD Sat Nav

19" New S8/S3 wheels

Quad outlet exhaust

Long Term

Not decided yet

That's a LOT of car

Was one of these at a rolling road day I went to on Saturday. :)

Chap said as standard it was 330bhp, and it did 330.1bhp. German efficiency for you.

That looks v.nice - Well done.

Lovely! Must feel a little bit slow though after the monster? :D

Looks great Eddy - I'm sure you're modding style will only make it better too!

What made you get rid of the beast for this? Just pining after more refinement?

It does but I'm not bothered and I love the V8 sound albeit a quiet V8 sound at he moment.

I felt I'd done most stuff I wanted with the Octy so was hankering after something new to tinker with. An unfortunate side effect of driving my Wife's spec'ed up A3 is that I just had to have an Audi with toys.

I expect all of the mods I've listed under short term to be done by the end of this month and at least some of those listed under medium term to be done by the end of May.

Cracking bit of kit Eddy

Has it done many miles?

Yes, but it hides them well.

'Nuff said

Nice!!!

Looks like it's off the set of Ronin.

Looking good mate.

Imagine the enjoyment will be even greater when you can hear the V8 rumble

Cracking car mate and a lot of motor for your money, there are a couple of these on Edition38 and they look so good 'decked' to the floor mate............

That looks Cracking Eddy, Absolute luxobarge!

Have you got a money shot of under the bonnet?

I won't be doing that, it'll stop me driving it how I want to. :)

When does the rebuild and the fitting of the twin turbos happen? :D

I've always loved them but have never been "brave" enough to get one - I guess it's the thought of the fuel bills doing over 50k per year

Depends how much I like the as to if that ever happens.

It drinks about the same as the Octy so it hasn't hit me too hard in that respect. The tank is bigger though so handing over £100 when I fill up is worrying.

Nice. There was one of these at the VAG specialist I use last time I was in. I can't get over the sheer size of them. Made my octy look like a Micra! Love it :D

Nice !!! Looked after Audis' do hide there mileage well. I don't know why but I was expecting the newer model S8.

Even so....:smokin:

I know its the wrong S8, but what a sound!

Love the car Eddy, i have long been a fan of the S8's the ultimate luxobarge imo.
