How much would I get for my Fabia VRS?

Featured Replies

I am seriously thinking about selling it after all the hassle I have had. I am at the end of my tether waiting for parts, and once it is sorted, I dont think I will have the confidence that it will perform as well as it did before, I have a niggling feeling there is lasting damage to the car, and although the car itself has been fine, waiting a month or more to get it fixed and being without a car is unacceptable, and I dont think I'll ever have the confidence to drive it in case it happens again, I realise thats the risk you take, but having a car that didnt have to be off the road for ages to get parts would be nice. I dont want to sell it really, as I do love the car, but I just feel like its never going to be the same again, I am always going to be wondering if its lacking power or if it has lasting damage / reliability problems.

So how much would I get for it, 04 reg 4,500 miles on the clock?

Some skoda dealers are struggling to get hold of the Vrs, see what they will give you. Demand is quite high for them, waiting list at my local dealer, no chance of even a test drive

No idea what it's worth but i sympathise, i dont know what problems you've had but i do know what it's like to buy a duff motor, sometimes it's better to cut your losses and start again

Steve

Paul, I can understand your frustration at having to wait for parts for your car but, when all is said and done, the damage was relatively minor. You WILL lose money if you sell the car, and what guarantee do you have that you won't have another accident in your next car and end up in the same situation? As an interested reader of posts about the Fabia Vrs, it seems obvious to me that owner satisfaction and enjoyment of the car is high and it offers great value for the money. If I were you, I would stick with what I have got.

Right just let me say that I am a bit drunk, so I guess I may be getting carried away a bit here, but yeah Denis, I was thinking about it before while having a sit in the back garden, and including interest the settlement would probably be

Be patient young Master Paul...

Once you've got the car back, it won't be long before you forget all this hassle.

Dr Geoff suggests treating yourself to a few mods to remove the niggling headache you currently have ;)

Paul , I don't very often agree with Denis ;) , but on this occasion , I do .

Once you have got the car back , you will wonder why you were ever considering changing it .

Just think how good it will be to get it back.

A previous car of mine was off the road for about 6 weeks due to a little mishap involving some black ice, a barbed wire fence, a tree, a close shave with a lamppost and a poor driver (moi). I hadn't paid extra for a courtesy car on my policy so ended up using a D reg escort estate for most of the time. OK it wasn't the most inspiring drive in the world and half the time the drivers door wouldn't unlock, but it got me to work and back.

Point is mine felt so good when I finally got it back - looked and drove as good as new.

Will be worth waiting for :D

totally with you on the whole being drunk thing mate. Perfect evening for it.

Surely a 106 would fell like a bit of a piece of poo after the fabia??

stick with what you've got....and get it chipped!

Same here geezers!!Cracking night to get sloshed. Did it all for Andy Kentish too to make him feel better  Little sweetie that I am!!

Now listen here paul you daft old lizzard, you'll see everything in a different light tomrrow, especially if you go and look at some of the pooey old alternatives

Have a good kip, sweet dreams about fabias or whatever, and we'll all sort your head out tomorrow matey  Cheers colin

Dude, as a Fab vRS owner i feel for u. I had an accident on my birthday 2weeks, but luckily my car was still and the car scrapped my number plate area damaging her side door.

First moment at that accident i thought crap my furby. After intensive checking there was only plastic scrappings on my bumper and number plate, which can be rubbed away with a damp cloth. (I dont mean to hi jack thread)

Although my accident is totally minor compare to yours, but I am really sorry to hear about your car man. Hard earn money sitting there doing nowt and now ur driving a right banger as well.

U going to lose more money by selling the car than keeping the car. But having said that, just checked on auto trader (not too sure if ur allowed to post adverts, sorry if this offends anyone)

Thanks guys, I know you are right, but my brain was all over the place last night and this morning I am seeing it with a bit more sense (although I am well tired and could do with going back to bed, lol). They hold their value quite well though, dont they...

All models of newer skoda's hold their value well, not like the days of old.

Paul, I would keep the car. If you p/x and go 2nd hand you will get less for it than you think, also buying 2nd hand can be dodgey. The last 2 cars but one I owned I later found out had been in serious accidents before I bought them even though they were HPI clear.

They do hold their value, and who wants a cr-appy 106 gti anyway. I went in one last year and it's not that quick and the inside looks like .......... well someones stollen all the interior ;)

The furby has been one of the best built cars I have owned and I have had 2 new cars in the past 2 years plus the furby. So it's had a little ding big deal just think about the performance and reliability. TBH why don't you chip and then have some real fun ? :D

Yeah I fancy getting it chipped, although I'll probably upgrade the suspension first, as it is a little on the soft side, but my mates "beeza" TDI 130 Sport has been Jabba'd and it does feel pretty damn quick. Seems much keener to rev now :D

Do we take it then that you've now sobbered up Paul :D Nice one fellah, and welcome back to the real world of skodaism  colin
